Chapter 109: Tall Sword Skills
"You're clearly short, yet you insist on wielding a weapon only suited for tall people?" Fenamore stood up, his aura growing heavier with every breath.
"Even after I warned him, he still brought up the word 'short' in front of Fenamore again. Is he an idiot?" Ganliu muttered from the SAD factory gate, watching the scene with pity. "Fenamore's really furious this time... that guy might die."
"This kid's becoming dangerous." Señor Pink could also sense the rising intensity from Fenamore. Still, he remained confident, believing he had already grasped all of Fenamore's moves and would soon emerge victorious.
Señor Pink smiled around his pacifier and activated the Sui Sui no Mi powers, sinking into the ground to sneak up on Fenamore from below.
Fenamore stood unmoving, gripping his naginata one-handed. The air around him warped with pressure from his rising aura. From a distance, the distortion created the illusion that the 80cm-tall Fenamore was actually 8 meters tall.
"Hahaha, I caught you agai—" Señor Pink burst from the rippling ground beneath Fenamore, but as soon as he saw the towering figure formed by Fenamore's presence, he froze.
Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, Fenamore appeared before Señor Pink, locking eyes. The shockwave of killing intent alone left Señor Pink dazed, as if hit by Haoshoku Haki.
"I've always believed height doesn't define stature. What matters is the strength of the heart. With a tall heart, even the smallest person can be a giant in the eyes of the world."
"Now watch closely. Even if I'm short—I can perform tall swordsmanship!"
Fenamore's voice thundered. The illusion of his distorted, towering form raised his naginata overhead. In Señor Pink's eyes, he had become as massive as a mountain. He couldn't even move.
"Heaven-Splitting Sword Art: Mountain Stand Still!"
Fenamore's slash fell like a descending cliffside. It cleaved through Señor Pink, cutting from left shoulder to right hip. Blood erupted from the wound.
"Mountain... stand still...?" Señor Pink's pacifier fell from his mouth. He staggered, murmuring, "Such overwhelming... swordsmanship. Truly breathtaking."
And then, he collapsed.
"Impressive. Your swordsmanship really is overwhelming. Even I thought you'd grown to three stories tall," Ganliu applauded.
"Shut it," Fenamore snapped, then turned to the SAD factory. "Stay alert. The war isn't over yet."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it." Ganliu raised his hands and nodded. "I heard there's a Logia user inside the factory. Should we help Kukai?"
"No need," Fenamore replied. "Even against a Logia-type, Kukai won't lose. We'll guard the gate."
"Right, that guy's a real swordsman now. Even Gambi wouldn't beat him in swordsmanship. No way some Donquixote flunky beats him."
---
Inside the SAD factory, snow blanketed the battlefield. Monet, now with her arms transformed into snowy wings, soared through the air. She whipped her wings, launching a barrage of snowballs in the form of rabbits.
"Snow Rabbit!"
The barrage of white rabbits descended rapidly, the air shrieking with the speed and weight of their fall.
Standing below, Kukai raised his blade, the famed sword Lingkong, which shimmered with keen energy.
"Sword of the Sky — Third Form: Thunderflash!"
Swish, swish, swish!
With streaks of flashing steel, Kukai's slashes split every snow rabbit perfectly, clearing the barrage.
Then, shifting his stance, he leveled Lingkong horizontally and prepared a powerful strike.
"Sword of the Sky — First Form: Blue Bird!"
A bright azure slash soared upward like a singing bird, streaking toward Monet. She tried to evade, but the slash nicked her left wing, severing both her arm and the ice-snow wing along with it. Blood splashed onto the snowy ground.
Wounded and unbalanced, Monet nearly fell but quickly regenerated her snowy wings to regain flight.
Her severed arm fell before Kukai. He didn't even glance at it. His icy expression remained unchanged. He didn't feel pity—not even for a beautiful woman like Monet.
With his sharp gaze locked onto her, Kukai adjusted his sword again. Gripping Lingkong tightly, he spun his wrist. The blade whirled rapidly, creating gale-like slashes condensing around him.
"Sword of the Sky — Second Form: Storm Surge!"
The swirling slash formed a hurricane and roared toward Monet.
"Igloo!" Monet cried, terrified.
She flapped her wings and formed a dense snow barrier that encased her like a fortress.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Kukai's hurricane strike battered the snowy dome. Deep gashes were carved into it, but the powerful shield of hardened snow withstood the full brunt... for now.
