Chapter 35 - Take It All

Yang Xiong had prepared an extremely long steel cable for this operation, several hundred meters in length.

As he descended, pulling the cable with his soul power, he finally touched the ground after dropping about a hundred meters.

At this point, Yang Xiong no longer cared about anything else. He immediately removed his armor and was greeted by a breathtaking sight.

The entire Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well was filled with a wide variety of herbs. Many of them Yang Xiong had seen in books, while others were completely unknown to him.

At the center of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well were two springs, one red and one blue. All the power of ice and fire in this area stemmed from these two springs.

Yang Xiong couldn't help but burst into wild laughter. After all the planning and effort, he had finally arrived at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. With the priceless immortal herbs found here, he no longer needed to worry about the safety of his sect or his own future. These treasures held limitless potential and could even help him stand at the very peak of the soul world.

After laughing heartily, Yang Xiong immediately got to work.

Unlike Tang San, who had the mysterious Jade Hands suitable for picking immortal herbs, Yang Xiong had long since prepared a special pair of gloves made from the silk of a ten-thousand-year heavenly silkworm. These gloves, designed for handling poisonous materials, could protect him from many toxic plants.

The first herb he found was a large light pink flower, with no leaves and a stem about a meter long. The blossom was huge, nearly a foot in diameter, each petal sparkling like crystal. The pistils were pale purple, resembling embedded amethyst gems.

This was the Fragrant Silk Beauty Immortal Herb, a known antidote to all poisons. As long as one held it, they would be safe from poisonous plants.

Yang Xiong carefully dug up the entire plant along with its roots and soil, then began collecting all the treasures within the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

Regardless of whether he recognized the herb or not, he dug up everything by the root and stored them in jade boxes. Even if some potency was lost, it was better than leaving them for someone else, especially considering this place was Du Guy Bo's stronghold, and Yang Xiong might never get another chance to return.

Though there were many immortal herbs here, Yang Xiong only recognized a few. But that didn't stop him from taking everything.

Next, he dug up a massive tulip that resembled the one in the ancient records stored in the library. It was likely the legendary Beautiful Silk Tulip Immortal Herb.

Without hesitation, he dug it up and stored it away.

He also found several other immortal herbs he recognized, including the Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid, Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum, and Lovesick Heartbroken Red. He even found multiple plants of ten-thousand-year ginseng and lingzhi mushrooms, along with many other rare herbs.

But Yang Xiong didn't stop to examine them closely. He simply dug them all out and stored them, some in jade boxes, others in wooden containers or wrapped in cloth.

He even discovered herbs not mentioned in the original story but recorded in the sect's library.

One herb, in particular, amazed him. Though it was vaguely described in the records, it was easy to identify. It stood about a foot tall with nine uniquely shaped leaves that resembled swords, radiating a sharp aura.

This was the Nine-Leaf Sword Grass, one of the rarest and most valuable immortal herbs.

It hadn't appeared in the original story, but Yang Xiong knew that if Sword Douluo consumed it, it might push the Seven Kill Sword to an entirely new level.

More importantly, this herb was perfectly suited for both his father's and older brother's martial spirits, making it a priceless treasure.

Two hours passed. The dozens of jade boxes Yang Xiong had brought were all filled. Even his twenty large herb pouches were bursting with herbs, with some simply wrapped in cloth or stored in wooden boxes due to lack of space.

By the time he finished, the entire Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well looked like it had been plowed, utterly barren, with no green left in sight.

Yang Xiong now turned his attention to the two most important herbs beside the springs, the very reason for his visit.

These were the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and the Infernal Delicate Apricot, two of the most valuable herbs in the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

Yang Xiong's martial spirit was a full-body martial spirit, one of the most unique types. To fully unleash its power, he needed intense physical training. The most critical part of that was body refinement.

Despite scouring countless books, there was very little information about full-body martial spirits, and no known cultivation method.

Especially rare was any method for triggering a second awakening, which was crucial for full-body martial spirits. Without it, they were just average, in terms of strength and attributes.

But with a second awakening, especially a golden-grade awakening, these spirits could rival even the most divine martial spirits.

Near the blue spring was a white herb resembling a large eight-pointed flower. At its center sparkled crystalline pistils. It emitted no scent and sat right at the core of the cold extreme yin spring. This was the legendary Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass.

This herb radiated intense cold that could freeze the nerves and chill the heart. Within ten meters, the cold could overwhelm someone, and prolonged exposure would result in incurable cold poison.

Beside the fiery red spring was the Infernal Delicate Apricot. It looked like a fiery red cabbage and contained potent fire poison.

This herb could survive even in magma and had the exact opposite effect of the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass.

Together, these two herbs formed the very core of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and were the closest to the twin springs.

According to Yang Xiong's calculations, if he could refine his body using both herbs, the extreme heat and cold would trigger a second awakening of his martial spirit, possibly even a golden-grade one.

However, these two herbs were extremely difficult to harvest. He was only a Grandmaster-level soul master and lacked Tang San's mysterious Xuan Tian arts. The pain involved would be unimaginable.

Still, Yang Xiong didn't hesitate. He was already this far, if he missed this opportunity, he might never get another.

He set down all his soul tools and took out an iron knife and a jade knife. In addition to his heavenly silkworm silk gloves, he put on a pair of iron gloves for extra protection.

The second awakening of a full-body martial spirit didn't increase soul power but dramatically enhanced the physical body.
