Chapter 387: The Flame Fairy Appears, Mo Luo Once More!
The crowd in the pavilion watched the scene unfold, their hearts pounding yet again. At this point, many were already somewhat numb.
Lin Fan was simply a killing god—completely unstoppable.
On the upper floor of the pavilion, a young man in blue leaned against a pillar. His previously amused expression had grown noticeably more serious as he gazed at the chaos below.
"This Lin Fan… his strength really is hard to gauge."
His palms glowed with a jade-like sheen, and near his wrist, one could faintly make out the shape of a white elephant imprint.
"Yeah, a tricky guy for sure. That spiritual technique of his especially—it's downright eerie," said the man beside him in grey robes. He looked ordinary, but his eyes were unsettlingly bright. Anyone who stared too long into them would feel their mind spiral as if falling into an illusion.
"This year's Thunder Battle might be more intense than expected," the blue-clothed man muttered, continuing to watch Lin Fan.
The gray-robed man remained silent, his gaze thoughtful.
…
After collecting Wei Zhen's qiankun pouch, Lin Fan calmly swept his gaze across the remaining cultivators in the pavilion. When his eyes passed over Chen Qing of Ice Soul Sect and Li Lin of Sky Shark Sect, both men involuntarily shivered.
They didn't even dare utter the words "it wasn't my fault."
"Brother Lin Fan, are you planning to wipe out the whole Guest Pavilion?"
A pleasant, bell-like voice suddenly rang out across the floor.
Both Chen Qing and Li Lin breathed a silent sigh of relief.
Everyone's eyes turned toward the voice.
From the front of the pavilion, a large number of armored guards in crimson entered. At the head of the group was a strikingly beautiful woman with a curvy, seductive figure clad in tight red armor, her presence instantly capturing the crowd's attention.
Her slightly curled red hair flowed down her waist, giving her a sultry yet commanding air. She had a delicate, beautiful face with features like a painting, and skin as fair as snow. Despite her alluring charm, her sharp brows gave her a bold, heroic edge.
"Heh, now here comes the big shot…" the blue-clothed man upstairs commented with a grin. A flicker of emotion passed through his usually indifferent eyes.
"She's not someone to mess with," the gray-robed man muttered, a trace of wariness in his voice.
In the pavilion, hushed whispers began to spread once more.
All eyes were now on the woman in red armor.
Some even fantasized about marrying her—not only for the beauty but also to inherit Flame God Temple's power.
Lin Fan recognized her immediately. She was none other than Tang Xinlian, second on the Rising Star Ranking, Mo Luo's chief disciple, and the heir to Flame God Temple.
"Miss Tang flatters me," Lin Fan said with a small smile and cupped his hands.
"I've always lived by the rule: if others don't provoke me, I won't cause trouble. If they strike first, I simply respond accordingly."
He turned slightly and looked at Gu Mengqi, Gu Yan, and Mu Lingshan.
"Anyone who knows me knows I'm very easygoing… right?"
"Big Brother Lin Fan's the best. I can vouch for him!" Mu Lingshan chirped as she raised her hand.
Gu Mengqi and Gu Yan exchanged amused glances and nodded.
"It really was Huang Ling and the others who started it. If anything, it was all because of us."
Tang Xinlian took a graceful step forward, arriving beside Lin Fan. Her brilliant eyes scanned him carefully, then she smirked slightly, as if displeased by something.
"Master said you were impressive. Looks like he wasn't wrong. How about a spar sometime?"
Lin Fan shrugged.
"If you're still interested after the Thunder Battle, I'd be happy to oblige."
"Deal," Tang Xinlian raised a brow and then shifted her gaze to Lin Dong, who stood beside Mu Lingshan.
"You must be Lin Dong?"
"That's me," Lin Dong nodded and cupped his fists. "Miss Tang, is there something you need?"
"Come with me. My master wants to see you," she said, her voice calm and direct. She turned to leave, but after a step, looked back with a playful smile.
"Oh, and Lin Fan—you're coming too."
Without waiting for a response, she left, leaving behind a mesmerizing silhouette.
Lin Fan chuckled as he watched her leave. He turned to the others and said,
"Let's go together."
With that, he followed after her.
Lin Dong and Mu Lingshan quickly caught up, and after a slight hesitation, Gu Mengqi and Gu Yan followed as well.
As the group departed, the pavilion erupted into murmurs once again, everyone speculating about Lin Fan and Lin Dong's relationship with Mo Luo.
"Who would've thought… Senior Mo Luo actually summoned Lin Fan and Lin Dong himself?"
On the upper floor, the blue-clothed young man was visibly surprised.
"Those two brothers are definitely not simple," the gray-robed man said, his eyes narrowing as he watched them leave.
"Show's over. Time for us to go. This Thunder Battle is going to be interesting. The Thunder Ancestral Symbol's pull is no joke."
The blue-robed man stood, smiled faintly, and turned to leave.
As the noise returned to the Guest Pavilion, the atmosphere grew lively once more.
But in a shadowy corner that no one noticed, a black-robed figure continued to sip quietly from his cup, unmoved by everything that had happened.
"Lin Fan…"
A raspy voice echoed from within the robes. He slowly looked up, revealing a glimpse of a face wrapped entirely in black cloth, eerie and menacing.
…
Inside a majestic hall, Lin Fan once again came face-to-face with Mo Luo.
Perhaps due to being inside Flame God Temple, Mo Luo's imposing presence felt even stronger than before.
As Lin Fan's group entered with Tang Xinlian, Mo Luo's gaze immediately fell on Lin Dong, his expression softening slightly.
Feeling the presence of both the Devouring Ancestral Symbol and the Thunder Ancestral Symbol inside Lin Dong, Mo Luo couldn't help but let out a low sigh.
"You really succeeded…"
"Only thanks to your help, Senior," Lin Dong replied with a respectful bow.
"You endured three of my attacks. If I hadn't conceded, I'd have lost all face. Qing Zhi and the others would never let me live it down," Mo Luo said with a rare smile.
Then his gaze shifted to Lin Fan.
"You're even more mysterious than Lin Dong… but you do love stirring up trouble."
"Oh? May I ask which trouble you're referring to, Senior Mo Luo?" Lin Fan asked with a small smile, raising an eyebrow.
