Everyone except Kimi spun around when they heard footsteps approaching through the darkness.
A tall figure emerged from the shadows, and the group collectively held their breath. Those piercing red eyes seemed to glow with an otherworldly intensity that made even the most hardened wizards take an involuntary step backward.
The man stopped several feet behind Kimi, his voice dripping with disdain as he spoke.
"Pathetic wizards."
Kimi felt her heart skip a beat at the familiar deep voice. She didn't need to turn around to know who stood behind her. Relief flooded through her veins like warm honey. Finally, someone had come for her. Someone who might actually be able to help.
She kept her eyes fixed on her brother instead of turning around.
Dynasty's mouth fell open when he spotted the newcomer. His voice cracked with disbelief.
