"Fine, Dad. I'll gather my friends here instead of going out all night. Does that satisfy you?" Alvin replied to his father with a hint of exasperation.
Felix nodded approvingly, his expression softening with relief. Kimi stayed silent during the exchange.
"Alright then. I'll be home before dinner." Alvin headed toward the front door. "Wait, I'm coming too," Kimi announced suddenly.
Alvin stopped mid-stride and glanced back at her. "Of course."
Both Delia and Felix exchanged knowing smiles. Kimi bid them farewell and hurried after Alvin.
"You heading to campus?" she asked, walking alongside him toward his car positioned at the far end of the driveway behind the other vehicles.
"Naturally. Even if I had other plans, I'd still give you a ride," he replied, gently ruffling her hair with his hand.
"I forgot my phone at Brennan's place yesterday."
Alvin withdrew his hand and retrieved his phone from his jacket pocket.
"Let me handle this."
