"What's with that eye?" Krul Tepes, upon witnessing Aoki's Rinnegan, felt a flicker of fear at the unfamiliar eye, quickly replaced by rage.
"Damn it! This is a blatant provocation!"
Suddenly, Krul Tepes felt a powerful pull, a force she couldn't resist, drawing her forward.
Looking at Aoki again, she saw him extending a hand, the source of the pull emanating from his palm.
"Banshō Ten'in!"
Initially, Krul Tepes resisted, but the pull grew stronger, forcing her to abandon her struggle. She decided to use this to her advantage, aiming to overpower Aoki.
The pull brought her before Aoki. She sneered. "How foolish! You lured me close. You're asking for death!"
She lunged to grab Aoki's neck, but then felt that immense repulsive force again.
Suspended in mid-air, she lacked the strength to resist, flung backward.
"Shinra Tensei!"
Pulling and pushing Krul Tepes around, Aoki felt a surge of satisfaction, imagining the sheer enjoyment of the Deva Path during its invasion of Konoha.
"You damn fool! If you're going to fight, fight properly! What's with this pushing and pulling?!" Krul Tepes raged, exasperated.
Aoki found Krul Tepes's reaction childish. The battlefield was unpredictable; even if this method was underhanded, he had won.
The ends justified the means.
For the next few minutes, Aoki continued to pull and push Krul Tepes, intending to win this way.
However, he suddenly realized his chakra reserves were almost depleted.
"What the hell? This thing actually consumes chakra?" Aoki was shocked. He hadn't realized these techniques consumed chakra.
"Damn it, why wasn't Nagato exhausted using six people's chakra? Why am I exhausted? And Nagato was so skinny…"
Suddenly, Aoki slapped himself. "Damn it! Why am I comparing my chakra to a Uzumaki?!"
He felt utterly foolish, but there was no time for self-recrimination. He had thoroughly enraged Krul Tepes, and with his Rinnegan's chakra depleted, defeating her would be incredibly difficult.
"You fool! You've finally run out of power for those techniques. Now it's my turn," Krul Tepes said, rising to her feet, sensing Aoki's weakened state. She wouldn't let him escape alive.
Seeing Krul Tepes rise, Aoki felt a sense of foreboding. He looked at Guren Ichinose and his squad, who were being overwhelmed by Ferid Bathory and Crowley Eusford.
He'd forgotten that while he could contend with Krul Tepes, Guren Ichinose's squad couldn't handle Ferid Bathory and Crowley Eusford.
Crowley Eusford was under his genjutsu, but he couldn't reveal that yet to learn more about the vampires' plans.
"Or maybe I could use the Void-Emptying Thunderclap to take her out."
To escape this predicament, Aoki needed to eliminate Krul Tepes.
His only remaining life-threatening technique was the Void-Emptying Thunderclap, but even if it hit Krul Tepes, it would take over ten minutes to kill her.
The technique also failed if the user was defeated during that time.
He was desperate, the result of his own arrogance. He'd come here believing he could defeat the third progenitor, so while he'd mentioned retreat, he hadn't truly intended to, believing he couldn't lose.
"Damn it, I have to retreat," he thought, but Guren Ichinose beat him to it.
"Everyone, retreat!" Guren Ichinose ordered, looking at Aoki. "Aoki, you know the situation. You can't handle the third progenitor, and we can't handle the other nobles. Retreat!"
Though reluctant, Aoki agreed. They retreated, losing their advantage and now being pursued by vampires.
"Your Majesty, the humans are escaping. What should we do?" Ferid Bathory asked Krul Tepes as Aoki and his squad fled.
Krul Tepes watched Aoki's retreating figure, her rage intense, but not blinding. "Don't pursue them. They all die today. Don't forget our plan."
Meanwhile, after being pursued by vampires, Shinoa Hīragi and the others finally reached the evacuation point.
Despite their defeat, they hoped Aoki's group would win. They were unaware of Aoki's own defeat.
Shortly after their arrival, Kureto Hīragi arrived with reinforcements.
"Everyone, I am Kureto Hīragi, Lieutenant General of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, and head of the Hīragi family. Thank you for your service. Thanks to the Moon Demon Company's sacrifice, we will defeat the vampires. Disarm and relax."
Kureto Hīragi addressed the crowd from a raised platform.
"Who's Kureto Hīragi?"
"I don't know."
"You don't know? Kureto Hīragi is, in a way, the next head of the Hīragi family."
"So, we're saved?"
"Probably."
The soldiers discussed the arrival of Kureto Hīragi, but Shinoa Hīragi addressed Yoichi Saotome and the others.
"Everyone, maintain combat readiness. Don't let your guard down."
As Kureto Hīragi's sister and a member of the Hīragi family, Shinoa Hīragi didn't believe he was there to save them. She knew her half-brother wouldn't be as benevolent as he appeared.
