"Looks like it's over, vampire. Die," Shinya Hīragi said, his finger tightening on the trigger.
"Shinoa!" However, at that very moment, Shinoa Hīragi, utilizing her Cursed Gear, launched Shinya Hīragi away, preventing him from killing Mikaela.
The Vampire Extermination Unit members were astonished to witness Shinoa Hīragi shielding Mikaela.
"What are you doing?" Mikaela inquired, utterly bewildered, yet devoid of any expression of gratitude towards Shinoa Hīragi.
Shinoa Hīragi's response was concise: "If you're killed, Yūichirō Hyakuya will be heartbroken. So, just escape with him. Aren't you Yūichirō Hyakuya's family? We're also Yūichirō Hyakuya's family, so, in a sense, we're your family too."
Upon hearing this, Mikaela displayed an unprecedented expression towards humanity. Ever since his transformation into a vampire, the word "family" had held immense sensitivity for him.
While his current disposition was one of intense aversion towards humanity, Shinoa Hīragi's declaration of kinship caused his deeply ingrained beliefs to waver.
"You damn fool, what are you doing?!"
"Damn it, I'll kill you too!"
"Enough! We haven't got time! Move!"
The others, their patience wearing thin, were about to confront Shinoa Hīragi, but Yoichi Saotome, Shiho Kimizuki, and Mitsuba Sangū positioned themselves beside her, clearly stating their unwavering stance.
They would absolutely not allow Mikaela to be killed!
Shiho Kimizuki: "Seriously, are you joking with me?"
Mitsuba Sangū: "But this is the only way. After all..."
Yoichi Saotome: "Because we've already decided to prioritize our comrades."
Shinoa Hīragi: "Then let's do it, everyone!"
The four of them engaged in combat with the others, though they held back, inflicting injuries but refraining from delivering fatal blows.
"Comrades? What a joke. Such a thing... it couldn't possibly exist in a world like this," Mikaela muttered, utterly dumbfounded by Shinoa Hīragi and the others' actions in fighting against their own comrades to protect him.
He clutched Yūichirō Hyakuya closer. "Yūichirō, I…"
"Quickly, go now! Once we clear up this misunderstanding, we'll head to the airport and rendezvous there," Shinoa Hīragi urged.
"Rendezvous? Who would rendezvous with people like you?" Despite their efforts to protect him, Mikaela harbored no goodwill towards them.
"Ugh, you're so noisy! We took it upon ourselves to believe in you, since you're Yūichirō Hyakuya's family. So, we're counting on you," Shinoa Hīragi said, charging back into the fray.
Seizing the opportunity, Mikaela lifted Yūichirō Hyakuya and swiftly escaped.
"Farewell for now, Yūichirō. If we're lucky, we'll meet again," Shinoa Hīragi murmured, watching them go, before being knocked unconscious with a single punch.
"Die, you traitor!" The soldier raised his sword, but Shinya Hīragi intercepted him.
Shinya Hīragi's gaze fell upon Shinoa Hīragi. "Don't think you're safe just because I didn't kill you. Explain yourself."
Shinoa Hīragi was about to explain when a helicopter appeared in the sky. Recognizing it as a vampire helicopter, Shinya Hīragi's face contorted in alarm.
"Vampires! Everyone, prepare for combat!" Shinya Hīragi shouted, and everyone sprang into action.
Several vampires jumped from the helicopter. Although only second-tier armed vampires, Shinya Hīragi and his team were exhausted, their morale plummeting after Shinoa Hīragi's actions.
The ensuing battle became a one-sided massacre. With more vampires arriving, Shinoa Hīragi and her group were hopelessly outmatched.
Shinya Hīragi ordered a retreat. Guren Ichinose's main force was too far away for timely reinforcement.
While Aoki might have intervened had he known, he was unaware of the situation and couldn't provide support.
Meanwhile, another helicopter landed before Aoki and his squad.
Dozens of second-tier armed vampires emerged, along with three vampire nobles: Ferid Bathory, the seventh progenitor encountered in Shinjuku; a male vampire noble of seemingly lesser strength than Ferid Bathory; and a female vampire noble, clad in a gothic lolita-style mini-dress, her shoulders, back, and thighs exposed, a magenta bow adding a touch of girlish charm to her attire; a lace choker, oversized sleeves, a split cape, and knee-high heeled boots completed the ensemble.
Her peach-colored hair, upturned eyes, red eyes, pointed ears, and bat-shaped hair ornaments completed her appearance.
Despite her seemingly youthful appearance, Aoki sensed a palpable aura of oppressive power emanating from her.
"Ding!"

Meanwhile, Krul Tepes, upon seeing humans instead of Crowley Eusford, showed surprise. This indicated Crowley Eusford had been defeated.
"Ferid, your subordinates seem rather incompetent. They couldn't even handle these humans," Krul Tepes said dismissively, her gaze falling upon Ferid Bathory. She loathed him and relished this opportunity to taunt him, despite the precarious situation.
Ferid Bathory remained unfazed and unperturbed. He pointed towards Aoki, standing at the forefront.
"Ah, Your Majesty, this cannot be blamed on Crowley."
He then extended a finger towards Aoki.
"That human possesses exceptional strength. Remember the human I mentioned from Shinjuku? That's him."
