"Obscuring Clouds"
"This supple body, incredible jumping ability, and the relentless blows of my scaled fists. My offense is limitless and unrestrained! You're trembling, are you afraid?
I haven't even gotten serious yet. Don't worry; I'll unleash my full power soon. Then, you can peacefully await your death."
Ignoring Gyokko's boasting, Muichiro Tokito remained silent for a long time. Then, a rare smile appeared on his face.
"Even the most ferocious attacks are meaningless if they miss their target. Honestly, I don't need to take you seriously. I heard Upper Moon Three fought two Hashira on the Mugen Train and almost killed one."
"Compared to Upper Moon Three, you're pathetically weak. Of course, you're only Upper Moon Five.
Your strength is definitely inferior to Upper Moon Three's, but the difference is too vast! You can't even gain the upper hand against a single Hashira. Shameful."
Gyokko's temples throbbed. He was unconvinced, but he couldn't deny the truth. As a fellow Upper Moon, he knew Akaza's strength well.
There were six Upper Moons. The bottom three weren't that far apart in strength, but Gyokko, as Upper Moon Five, was the weakest of the three.
Upper Moon Six, Daki and Gyutaro, required simultaneous decapitation to be killed. Decapitating only one wouldn't kill them. Gyutaro alone was nearly as strong as Gyokko, and his strength was even acknowledged by Muzan Kibutsuji.
This was without considering Daki. Considering Daki and their regenerative ability, Gyokko wasn't sure he could defeat them.
Upper Moon Four, Hantengu, was stronger than Gyokko, and like Upper Moon Six, decapitation wouldn't kill him. Only decapitating his true form, would kill him.
But that was easier said than done. Besides Hantengu had four other forms: Sekido, Urogi, Aizetsu, and Karaku, each with different abilities.
That wasn't the worst of it. Gyokko could handle the four forms, but their fusion into Zohakuten, the fifth form, greatly amplified his power, making him unbeatable even for Gyokko and final form Urami.
The top three Upper Moons were even stronger, starting with a qualitative leap in power at Upper Moon Three.
Upper Moon Three, Akaza, with his close-combat fighting style, could obliterate his own head with a single punch, and Gyokko couldn't even touch him.
Upper Moon Two, Douma, used ice and poison, his poison capable of temporarily immobilizing even Upper Moons.
Upper Moon One, Kokushibo, was even more formidable. Even the arrogant Akaza feared him. During the gathering of Upper Moons at the Infinity Castle, Kokushibo severed Akaza's arm. Akaza only dared to say, "I will kill you," a statement even he wasn't sure he could fulfill.
Compared to the other Upper Moons, Gyokko felt utterly unremarkable. Now, he was being outmatched by a fourteen-year-old boy, a Hashira, but if this got out, the other Upper Moons, especially Hantengu and Akaza, would ridicule him.
The thought of their mockery enraged Gyokko, fueling his determination to kill Muichiro Tokito.
He charged.
"Witness my true power!"
Gyokko moved with incredible speed, his smooth scales making his movements unpredictable, launching an attack.
"Blood Demon Art, Porcelain Vase Spells: Thousand Needle Fish Kill!"
The relentless attacks overwhelmed Muichiro Tokito, who fought back with his Nichirin Blade, but struggled.
"How is it? This unconventional movement," Gyokko sneered, noticing Muichiro Tokito's difficulty. "These scales allow me complete freedom; my movements are unpredictable.
I love defying the norm! Now, how shall I dispose of you? Let's replace that ugly head with a beautiful fish head."
Gyokko found an opening behind Muichiro Tokito.
"It's over!"
Gyokko struck, but it was only an illusion.
"Mist Breathing, Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds"
Muichiro Tokito's shadow dissipated into mist.
"He disappeared!" Gyokko noticed Muichiro Tokito near a tree behind him. "Found you!"
He struck again, but it was another shadow.
Muichiro Tokito reappeared behind Gyokko, who attacked again, only to hit another shadow.
Gyokko repeatedly struck Muichiro Tokito's shadows, only to realize the mist from the dissipating shadows had formed a thick fog, trapping him.
Confused, Muichiro Tokito reappeared behind him.
"I said…" Gyokko punched, only to hit another shadow.
Muichiro Tokito's voice echoed from the fog. "Why do you assume you're the only one not using your full power?"
A sharp Nichirin Blade appeared from the fog, pointed at Gyokko's neck.
Gyokko tried to dodge, but it was too late. Before he could react, the blade sliced through his neck.
The blade flashed, and Gyokko's head separated from his body.
