"Hmm?" Fred was momentarily stunned. "Why are we looking at Ron's dormitory? Mum didn't tell us to tuck him in tonight!"
"Then do you know Peter Pettigrew?" Wade asked again.
George thought for a moment, then asked, "Who's that?"
"Follow me," Wade said.
They moved to an empty classroom. Wade spread out the Marauder's Map and said, "You can see for yourselves."
The twin brothers exchanged glances. George tapped the parchment with his wand and said, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good!"
The map's contents revealed themselves layer by layer. The Weasleys immediately focused their attention on the Gryffindor common room, carefully distinguishing the tiny letters on it.
This was a part they usually paid no attention to.
Soon, they found their younger siblings—Ron and Ginny were both in the common room, along with a few other familiar names.
Then, to the dormitory.
Neville Longbottom was in the dormitory, and then… Peter Pettigrew…
Fred frowned. "Who is this guy? Why is he in Ron's dormitory?"
"Not just in Ron's dormitory," Wade added. "At night, their black dots are very close together. I think he should be in Ron's bed."
The twins' pupils constricted violently. They looked at each other, speechless for a while.
"Peter Pettigrew… that sounds like a male name?" George said, his face pale.
"Haha… little Ronnie found a boyfriend?" Fred said dryly.
The two brothers stared at each other, their usual jokes almost failing them.
Of course, they didn't actually believe their younger brother had found a boyfriend no one knew, sleeping together every night without ever being discovered.
But if they ruled out that absurd possibility… then the truth was even more terrifying!
"Let's go see!"
Fred made an immediate decision.
He glanced at the map again, took a deep breath, and walked towards Gryffindor Tower.
"Wait," Wade called out to them, handing over a potion bottle. "Draught of Living Death… I don't know what that guy's strength is, so it's better to be cautious."
George took the potion bottle, gripping it tightly, and nodded in silence.
No matter which house common room, students from other houses were not welcome to enter. Wade waited near the common room entrance, monitoring the situation's progress with the Marauder's Map.
The Gryffindor common room entrance didn't have an eagle-shaped knocker that required answers; instead, it was a portrait of the Fat Lady.
She was tipsy, and after Fred spoke the password, she opened the door and let the two in.
Many people were in the common room.
Lee Jordan enthusiastically greeted the Weasley twins, but saw them merely wave back, looking preoccupied.
"What's wrong with them?" Lee Jordan asked his friend nearby.
"Maybe they've caught a cold?" another student casually said. "Look, their ears are still steaming!"
Ron was playing Wizard Chess with his dormmate Dean, the battle raging, completely oblivious to who had entered.
Ascending the stairs, with no one else around, Fred whispered, "George, I keep thinking the name Peter Pettigrew sounds familiar. Do you remember where you heard it?"
George frowned and thought for a while, then shook his head. "Doesn't ring a bell."
"Then it must have been a long time ago… I definitely heard someone mention it," Fred said with a grim expression.
"We'll just ask once we catch him," George said.
The two found Ron's dormitory. The door wasn't locked, and it opened with a push.
Neville was sitting on the carpet, polishing his wand. Hearing the door open, he looked up and immediately froze.
"Uh… did I come to the wrong dorm?" He looked around blankly.
No, this was correct… this was his bed, his dorm…
"Let's play Battle Royale this afternoon, Neville?" Fred casually said, searching around with his eyes. "Call Ron… are the others in your dorm here?"
"They might be in the common room? Harry seemed to have gone to the library…" Neville scratched his head, then belatedly asked, "Has the rain stopped?"
"It'll stop this afternoon," George replied offhandedly.
Neville saw that the two brothers weren't even looking at him, but instead were flanking Ron's bed from left and right. He couldn't help but remind them again, "Ron's not in the dorm."
"Oh, right, we'll just bring his hero rat. Ron needs it, right?"
Fred mumbled evasively, pulling back Ron's bundled blanket.
A dirty sock fell to the floor.
A gray, sparsely furred rat was curled up asleep in a small nest of old towels by the headboard.
But when George reached out to grab it, it suddenly darted out, standing on the headboard, its small black eyes darting between the two of them.
Fred quickly scanned the area around the bed. Besides the rat, there were no other creatures, not even an extra insect.
His heart sank sharply.
"Come on, Scabbers! We're taking you to the common room to help Ron get his revenge."
Fred said with a slightly deliberate tone.
George's thumb, hidden behind his back, quietly unstopped the Draught of Living Death.
The rat Scabbers sat foolishly on the headboard, seemingly not understanding what they were saying. Fred suddenly pointed his wand at it—
"Petrificus Totalus!"
Bang!
The spell hit the wall, and Scabbers the rat jumped out first. George quickly threw the Draught of Living Death, but was a step too slow.
The crystal vial shattered with a snap. Neville, who was about to say something, smelled a strange odor.
"Catch it!" George yelled.
The rat darted out the door like lightning.
Neville shook his head, feeling a bit dizzy. By the time he recovered, the room was empty.
The Weasley brothers thump-thump-thumped rapidly down the stairs, casting spells as they ran.
But the tiny rat was much more agile than them, dodging every spell and escaping directly into the common room.
Everyone watched the Weasley twins in astonishment.
"Wham!"
A spell hit a vase on the cabinet by the wall, shattering it.
"Fred, George! You're breaking school rules!" Percy shouted furiously. "No casting spells willy-nilly in the common room! I'm taking points from you!"
"Stop talking nonsense, catch that rat!" Fred yelled.
"A rat?" Ron, realizing that the two brothers were chasing his pet Scabbers, asked in surprise, "What's wrong with Scabbers? Even if it chewed up your stuff, it's just a rat!"
He reached out, trying to block his brothers. Just then, someone opened the common room door, and Scabbers darted through the opening, escaping outside.
"Wait! Stop him!"
The Weasleys, who had turned the common room into a chaotic mess, rushed out the door one after another, then all tumbled into a mud pit.
Wade poured the Draught of Living Death down the unconscious rat, then put it into a glass jar secured with a strengthening charm. Only then did he look at the disheveled group, sighing deeply.
Harry, who had just opened the common room door with the password, asked in confusion, "What happened?"
