The boy waits a couple of seconds with his eyes closed, and before standing up, he closes the screen and tries to search again in one of the random cupboards, but again he has no luck.
He searches two more places, but doesn't find anything, until Elena stands behind him and points to one of the shelves on the counter. —"It's there."— When Dave opens the little door, the long-sought spices appear as if by magic.
Dave was sure he'd looked in that place not once, not twice, more, but leaving that question for another time, the boy takes what his mother asks for, and he turns on his feet to look where Elena is and even raises his hand, showing the packet of spices to Elena.
The woman approaches with a smile, but just then she trips over her own feet and falls forward. Dave simply leans forward, catching the woman halfway before her face hits one of the corners of the pantry.
Elena stands in shock in the boy's arms, her eyes darting from the corner of the cabinet she was about to hit. —"That would leave a big mark."— The boy comments.
For a few minutes, the boy lets his mother get over her shock before leading her into the dining room, where they sit next to each other. —"How about we order some dinner.?"— Elena's mind doesn't fully process the accident, and the woman just nods silently.
Dave orders a couple of pizzas, breadsticks, chips, a soda, and some salads. 30 minutes later, the delivery man rings the doorbell.
—"Elena, do you want to go get the food.?"— The boy asks, a big smile on his face.
The woman looks down at the lace outfit she's wearing before looking at the boy. —"That's funny. Go ahead, I'll get the plates and glasses..."— With that, the woman gets up and walks to where she keeps the dishes, but she disappears from the kitchen. It was as if she had gone to hide from the delivery man.
After paying for the order and tipping, Dave took the pizzas to the living room, placed the food as close to the couch as possible, and went to look for his cell phone.
At that moment, Elena appeared and asked. —"Where are you going. ?"— The boy simply signaled his mother to wait a moment and went up to his bedroom to look for his cell phone.
It wasn't long before Dave was back, and not only did he upgrade his data plan with the phone company, he also subscribed to a streaming service to watch movies. However, since he has a digital TV, he doesn't have online service.
