Noa grew tense as Miu continued staring at her abdomen with an unreadable expression on his face.
“What’s wrong?” she asked nervously but received only a considering hum in response. “Is something up? What happened?”
“No—it’s nothing,” Miu finally replied, shaking his head vehemently.
The curiosity on his face quickly faded as it was replaced with the broad smile that hadn’t left him ever since the doctor had told them that Noa was pregnant. It took a few more words of reassurance before the suspicion and concern finally left Noa’s eyes, and her shoulders slumped in relief.
“You scared me. If something seems wrong, you have to tell me, okay?” she insisted.
“Yes, Noa!” Miu chirped.
“All right, give me your hand. Let’s go home,” she said.
Miu eagerly grasped the hand that was extended toward him as Noa concentrated on inscribing the teleportation rune beneath their feet. His burgundy eyes sparkled as they flickered toward his master’s stomach once more.
