Chapter 71 - Chapter 70

Sophia asked.

It's best to ask professionals when it comes to professional matters.

The other person didn't even need to calculate. He immediately gave an estimate. "About five hundred sets."

That meant with ten rolls, there would be five thousand sets.

"Alright, then let's start with ten rolls. If it's not enough, we'll order more later. Leave your contact details."

Sophia made the decision.

"Oh right, Ronin, bring back a little of that defective fabric. I need to take a look."

Ronin quickly agreed.

After hanging up the call, he went with the person in charge to pay and arrange the delivery.

That same evening, the ten rolls of fabric were delivered to Sophia's warehouse.

Sophia immediately sent the sewing machines, fabric, and tablet to General Yves.

The tablet was mainly for watching videos, which they were already very familiar with.

General Yves had someone place it aside.

After receiving the fabric and sewing machines, he walked over curiously to take a closer look.

"This fabric looks pretty strong, huh?"

Since the clothes made from it would eventually be given to the soldiers, General Yves also called for General Ulric and others.

Assistant Hanra would take the lead in sewing the clothes, with General Ulric assisting.

His main focus was still on military training and guarding the border.

And whether in the military camp or among local officials, General Ulric's authority far exceeded that of Assistant Hanra.

If he returned to the capital, Assistant Hanra might not be able to keep the situation under control.

There were also the household's seamstresses present.

Hearing what General Ulric said, one of them muttered, "This fabric isn't very soft, but for soldiers training daily, clothes made from this kind of material are just right."

"But I've never seen this type of fabric before."

This seamstress, Madam Xu, was experienced and well-known in Chen County. Otherwise, she wouldn't be working in General Yves' household.

General Ulric smiled and said, "There's no need to think too much. This fabric was bestowed by the gods. Naturally, it's not something ordinary people have seen before."

Madam Xu nodded but still silently made up her mind to study it carefully.

Not just the material — even the stitching looked very neat. One or two pieces of cloth were one thing, but entire rolls with such uniform stitching were rare.

"Madam Xu, come here!"

General Yves called out to her.

He had a tablet in his hand. As soon as Madam Xu walked over, he tapped on a video.

Hearing the sound from it, she was startled. Then she saw a woman on the screen, moving and speaking. Madam Xu was so frightened she stepped back several times, "A monster! A monster!"

She hid behind one of the generals, trembling.

"Watch your mouth! This is not a monster! This is a blessing given to us by the gods!"

General Ulric shouted sternly.

His voice was as loud as a bell, and the shout actually calmed Madam Xu. She looked around in a daze, seeing everyone else calm and composed.

Assistant Hanra was shocked. It was true. Right now, the porridge distribution could barely continue.

Later on, they would need even more food.

If this problem wasn't solved soon, they had just taken over Chen County, and there might be new uprisings to deal with.

Assistant Hanra said, "I understand. Reporting to you, General, the current food storage has 120,000 jin of potatoes, 140,000 jin of sweet potatoes, 60,000 jin of rice, 60,000 jin of flour, 100,000 jin of radishes, and 50,000 jin of cabbage."

There were also instant noodles, compressed biscuits, bread, braised eggs, sausages, and many other snacks that Sophia had sent earlier in batches.

And this was only the stock kept on General Yves's side. Supplies delivered to the military camp were not included.

After listening to the report, General Yves said, "In ten days, I plan to travel back to the capital. You must gather one thousand people within three days to make clothes. You can use up to half of the food in storage for this task."

Once Sophia sent over the first batch of sewing machines and fabric and everything was in place, he would begin the journey.

When Assistant Hanra heard this, her heart jumped. She didn't know what General Yves was planning. Since he hadn't yet brought his troops back to the capital, it seemed the campaign would continue, but now he suddenly wanted to return.

Before she could think more about it, she heard that General Yves was giving her a big responsibility.

She immediately said, "I accept the order."

From the battle in Chu until now, Assistant Hanra had completed many important tasks for General Yves. A few days ago, he asked her to temporarily act as assistant governor to help manage Chen County. Once he returned with the army, he would give her an official title.

Sophia was busy downloading sewing machine videos onto the tablets. Ten rows of ten tablets were neatly placed on the ground. It looked impressive.

Sophia bent down, crouching as she downloaded the videos one by one. All one hundred tablets were downloading at the same time, and the internet was extremely slow.

She worked for a long time, but the progress bar moved very slowly.

In the end, she let them download on their own.

She originally expected to receive the sewing machines in five days, but they arrived within three.

However, the fabric still hadn't arrived. There was no news from Ronin yet.

After waiting for three or four days, Sophia called Ronin.

Before she could speak, Ronin excitedly said, "Sophia, I was just about to call you. I found some fabric with small flaws, but the price is very low. Do you want me to show you a video?"

Sophia said, "Sure. Small flaws in the color are fine, but the quality still needs to be reliable."

As she spoke, Ronin switched to video call mode.

He was standing in a warehouse, and a man in a blue work uniform was next to him. When he saw Sophia on the screen, he smiled and waved to her.

"Sophia, the quality of this fabric is not a problem. Just a few small flaws," the man said confidently.

Ronin turned the camera back to himself and explained, "These fabrics have been stored here for a few years. They have small defects, and the factory was about to throw them out. If we want them, they're willing to sell them for four yuan per meter. Each roll has about 500 meters. There are twelve rolls total."

Sophia didn't agree right away. She asked, "Is this the cheapest defective fabric in your factory?"

The factory manager smiled and said, "Sophia, that depends. It depends on what you're comparing it with."

Sophia didn't want to waste time. She said, "We need the strongest, most durable fabric, and the price must be very low."

When the manager saw how clear she was, he said, "We do have something like that. There's a type of polyester fabric that is very tough. It's two and a half yuan per meter."

He signaled for Ronin to follow him.

They went to a corner of the warehouse where many rolls of fabric were stacked. Ronin moved the camera closer so Sophia could see clearly.

"This one looks good. Let's take it."

The fabric was dark blue. Many factory workers wore uniforms made from this type of material. It was very strong and resistant to wear.

Each roll had 500 meters. The factory currently had ten rolls in this color, already dyed. If more were needed, it would have to be made to order.

"How many sets of clothes can one roll make?"
