Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: The Fruit is Acquired

The light faded, and Chansey successfully evolved into Blissey.

Blissey shook her body, feeling the surge of power within her new form, and nodded in satisfaction.

Ace, on the other hand, watched the scene calmly while frantically communicating with his system internally.

"System! System! Why did Chansey evolve into Blissey just by getting a name?!"

"...No information. This is an unknown situation."

"I don't care! You're cheating me! Unless you compensate me a million or so Gold Coins, I absolutely won't let this go!"

"System detects a shortcoming. Reward: Ten thousand Gold Coins."

"Too little."

"System detects host tendency for extortion. Deducting three hundred thousand Gold Coins..."

"Wait! I was wrong! My system is too generous, I love you, mwah."

"..."

Having earned ten thousand Gold Coins from the system, Ace was content.

As for why Chansey evolved into Blissey just because of a name, Ace couldn't figure it out for now. However, he somewhat agreed with what Zinnia had suggested: perhaps the name was part of the bond between Ace and Blissey.

To express his gratitude for Zinnia's hint, Ace decided that for the next while, he would use Blissey to train with Zinnia, allowing Blissey to quickly master her new body.

When he conveyed this decision to Zinnia, she immediately shed "emotional" tears.

"Buzz..."

The entire Phantom Island shook violently. Ace and the others, having experienced this once before, instantly reacted.

"Gardevoir, Victreebel!"

Ace immediately looked to the side. Gardevoir had already placed her hand on Victreebel, and Teleport activated!

Victreebel's vision blurred. When it reappeared, it was at the edge of the cliff.

Looking at the branches that were slowly materializing as time reversed, Victreebel's Vine Whips shot out instantly. Almost in a flash of lightning, the Vine Whips struck hard against a solidified branch. A fruit, accompanied by the shattering of the branch, fell towards the beach below.

"Now!"

Gardevoir vanished from the spot once more. When she reappeared, she reached out for the fruit.

The fruit gradually turned ethereal, becoming a mere phantom the moment Gardevoir tried to grab it.

"How could this be?!"

Gardevoir was in disbelief. Why couldn't she seize the fruit, even after knocking it off the branch?

Watching the phantom fade, Gardevoir's heart clenched. She knew her Master needed this fruit, but she was powerless.

"Idiot, don't forget where this is..."

Just as Gardevoir was nearing despair, a faint, almost illusory voice sounded in her ear.

"Where is this? Isn't this Phantom Island?"

Gardevoir was confused. With the distraction of the voice, the fruit landed on the beach and then completely vanished.

"I failed..."

Gardevoir sighed. She then recalled the voice she had heard. After a slight frown, she used Teleport to return to Victreebel. She placed her hand on Victreebel, transferred again, and returned to Ace's side.

"Master, I failed. Even after knocking it down, I couldn't catch it."

Gardevoir lowered her head, looking defeated.

Ace frowned slightly, then instructed Gardevoir: "Tell me exactly what happened."

Gardevoir immediately recounted the experience, including the phrase she had heard.

"Don't forget where this is?"

Ace frowned, his mind racing, quickly trying to understand the meaning of that sentence.

"Ace-sama, we should leave quickly. If we delay here any longer, a lot of time will pass outside."

Zinnia noticed Ace deep in thought and couldn't help but remind him. The rapidly draining hourglass told Zinnia that time in the outside world was flying by.

"Wait, I've got it!"

Ace suddenly exclaimed. He quickly recalled his Pokémon, leaving only Aerodactyl. "Zinnia, come with me, I have an idea."

With that, Aerodactyl grabbed Ace and took off, swiftly flying towards the cliff on Phantom Island.

Zinnia immediately followed suit.

Upon reaching the cliff, Ace threw out two Pokéballs. Gardevoir and Ninetales landed on the cliff edge.

"Gardevoir, Ninetales, Future Sight."

Gardevoir and Ninetales were momentarily surprised, then both activated Future Sight.

A faint blue light emanated from the eyes of both Pokémon. As Future Sight was used, Gardevoir and Ninetales felt the scenery before them flash by. Soon, the fruit tree on the cliff edge reappeared before them.

"What is going on?"

Gardevoir was confused, but instinctively, a ball of Psychic energy was launched into the void, instantly striking the branch where the fruit was located. The branch snapped, and the fruit detached from the tree, plummeting downwards.

In the present time, Ace was intently watching the cliff edge. After waiting five minutes, two fruits abruptly materialized out of thin air, quickly falling towards the beach below.

"Now!"

Ace cried out in delight.

Gardevoir and Ninetales understood immediately. Their Psychic power instantly cradled the two fruits, lifting them into the air and floating them before Ace.

"It was just as I thought."

Ace took the two fruits, his eyes shining.

"Side Quest (Celebi's Fruit) has been completed. Mission Rating: S. Mission Reward: One hundred thousand Gold Coins, fifty Mission Points."

"The gift package has been stored for you and can be claimed at any time."

Ace tucked the two fruits into his belt pouch, then said to Zinnia, "Let's go. I need to take care of something first once we're out."

Without waiting for Zinnia's objection, he recalled Gardevoir and Ninetales, and quickly left the vicinity of Phantom Island with Zinnia.

After settling Zinnia, Ace returned to Phantom Island.

It was the same cliff, the familiar Future Sight.

The moment a few leaves fluttered down, Ace closed his eyes. After taking a deep breath, Aerodactyl suddenly dove with Ace towards the place where the leaves appeared.

The two feathers tightly gripped in his hand glowed faintly. Gardevoir and Ninetales, standing on the cliff, watched as Ace and Aerodactyl gradually became translucent, then vanished before their eyes.

On the other side, Aerodactyl flapped its wings, slowly descending onto the beach.

Ace opened his eyes and looked up at the cliff above.

And there, the branch that had appeared and vanished moments ago was growing on the cliff, and on its lush canopy, the places where it had been struck and broken could be clearly seen!
