Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: Aftermath

"Main Mission (The Four Heavenly Kings' Revenge) completed. Mission rating: S. Mission rewards: 100,000 gold coins, one small Pokémon Transfer Device, two random items, three Pokémon aptitude upgrades, one land ownership deed for three acres, and 50 mission points."

"Obtained: Leftovers, Charcoal."

"The gift package has been stored for you and can be claimed at any time."

As Lance fell, Ace crumpled to the ground in agony.

The aftereffects of borrowing Rayquaza's power were becoming more and more severe. Ace quickly spent five mission points to heal himself.

But as the treatment ended, the violent emotions in Ace's heart grew stronger.

His consciousness began to blur. Ace bit down hard on the tip of his tongue, and a taste of rust filled his mouth. Enduring the pain, he managed to regain some of his senses.

"Stay away from me! Crobat, tell the other Pokémon... to stay away from me, don't come near!"

With Ace's final roar, he felt his consciousness being overwhelmed by the rage in his heart. He could no longer feel his own body.

He had desperately told his Pokémon to stay away to avoid harming them.

If Ace had told Crobat and the others to suppress him, they surely would have.

But because he was their trainer, they wouldn't have the heart to completely overpower him, which might have led to him hurting them.

Moreover, Ace couldn't be sure what the long-term consequences would be if he didn't release this violent emotion.

So, he decided to let himself vent this rage. As long as his Pokémon didn't get close, everyone else and their Pokémon were opponents, and Ace wouldn't show them any mercy.

The night eventually ended, and dawn arrived unhurriedly.

The sun gradually rose. Amidst a battlefield of dismembered bodies, like a field of carnage, Ace regained consciousness.

"As expected, accepting the power of a Legendary Pokémon with my own body was too reckless."

It was a known fact that in the future, both Maxie and Archie had their bodies instantly destroyed after fusing with the Red and Blue Orbs, dying in an instant.

He had only borrowed the power for about ten minutes, and the subsequent aftereffects were almost more than he could bear.

Ace stood up and found that his clothes were gone, but he was not exposed. His body was covered in dried blood, which covered him completely.

However, he wasn't injured; he had simply been lying in a pool of blood, and the dried blood had formed scabs on his skin.

Around him were dismembered bodies. Ace walked over to Lance's corpse and discovered Agatha's body lying beside it.

Looking at her head, which was twisted 180 degrees, he knew she couldn't be saved.

"This is going to be a problem. I don't know what to tell Professor Oak."

The thought of Professor Oak and Agatha's relationship gave Ace a headache.

He scratched his head, and large chunks of dried blood flaked from his hair. He then spotted his clothes not far away.

As for the last member of the Elite Four, Lorelei, there was no sign of her.

Ace frowned slightly. "Not killing the weed by the roots leaves a survivor. This might lead to trouble in the future."

Ace picked up his clothes and walked toward his hut.

Before he reached the yard, his Pokémon surrounded him, looking at him with worry.

"I'm fine," Ace said, stroking the Crobat that had landed on his shoulder. "Thank you for your hard work, everyone. The crisis is over. We can now enjoy some quiet days."

Then, Ace looked at Victreebel. "Victreebel, it's up to you. Clean up over there."

Victreebel nodded and bounced toward the battlefield.

Arriving at the pile of dismembered bodies, Victreebel first swallowed a few pieces of Dragonair's remains to replenish its energy.

Then, it spewed out a stream of acid, which landed on the remains.

"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle..."

Under the strong acid, the bodies quickly turned into a bloody liquid and dissolved into the ground.

By next year, the vegetation in this area would probably be exceptionally lush.

Victreebel's acid was now stronger than ever. In just one hour, it had completely dissolved the dismembered bodies and the corpses of Lance and Agatha.

The entire battlefield was now nothing more than some bloody puddles and uneven ground, with no other unusual things to be seen.

As Victreebel bounced back, it ran into Ace, who had finished washing and was now dressed in clean clothes.

Ace glanced at the clean area, then sent out Lapras and Blastoise.

"Clean this up."

Lapras and Blastoise nodded. A double Surf washed away the blood on the ground. The faint, remaining traces were no longer a concern.

"Let's go home. After we rest, I'll take care of the rest."

Ace said, sounding a bit tired. Even though his consciousness had been gone for a long time, the physical fatigue was hard to hide.

After Ace and his Pokémon returned to the hut, Lorelei emerged from a puddle in a distant trap.

Her glasses were gone, and drops of reddish water dripped from her red hair.

Looking at the blurry hut in the distance, Lorelei couldn't stop trembling.

Last night was a nightmare for her. That terrifying figure, like a monster, had destroyed their offensive.

When she regained consciousness, she came face-to-face with Ace, who was in the throes of a violent rage.

Seeing Ace's crazed state, Lorelei's first reaction was to run. In front of him, she couldn't muster any will to fight.

Only by running could she feel safe.

Only by running could she escape her fear.

It could be said that Ace had become a deep psychological scar for Lorelei.

Climbing out of the trap, Lorelei held her tattered clothes together and limped toward the edge of a cliff.

She had to get out of here. Her Pokémon were still with her. Once she entered the sea, she could completely escape this area!

One step, two steps, three steps...

As she got closer to the cliff, Lorelei's heart beat faster and faster.

Just a little more, just a little more.

Looking at the approaching sea, Lorelei trembled uncontrollably.

But the next moment, a voice made her feel as if she had fallen into an abyss.

"Where do you think you're going?"

The cold tone was filled with murderous intent. Lorelei tried to resist, but her body trembled uncontrollably. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down her face.

Ace, forcing himself to stay alert, looked at Lorelei, who was now like a weak little girl. The coldness in his eyes intensified.

This woman couldn't be left alive!
