Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Boom!!!

A heavier impact than before came, and the freighter swayed. Before anyone could react, a deafening roar echoed.

Jon was staggered by the immense force. Just as he managed to steady himself, the sunlight was suddenly enveloped by a massive black shadow.

Looking up, he saw the outline of the thing.

Everyone gasped sharply.

It was a monster tens of meters long, with a body like an enlarged sea eel, and fierce red eyes. It was clearly a solitary Sea King!

"Wh-what is that thing!?"

A young crew member was already paralyzed with fear, a murky yellow liquid soaking his pants.

"Idiot, don't just sit there, get up!"

"This is truly hellish, there's a Sea King on this route?"

"Fire! Hurry and fire!!"

The ship was filled with commotion. Jon gripped the railing, ignoring the pink-haired boy in his vision, and stared intently upwards.

In fourteen years, this was his first time seeing a Sea King with his own eyes.

The "Beast King" entry didn't instill much fear in him; instead, there was an indescribable sense of excitement.

He noticed that this Sea King perfectly matched the television images in his memory, incredibly familiar.

"This is… the one that bit off Shanks's left arm?"

Confirmed. Even if they were of the same species, they couldn't look exactly alike.

But, wasn't this a bit too much of a coincidence?

"Roar!!"

Another terrifying roar came, but the target was clearly not the freighter. Many noticed that the Sea King was staring at a small wooden boat.

Were they not the only unlucky ones?

"Help! Help me! Help… ah!"

Many people's attention was drawn by the screams. Below, a small wooden boat was floating on the thick waves.

On the boat was a pink-haired boy wearing thick glasses, his eyes spinning like mosquito coils, clearly scared unconscious.

But the Sea King seemed to have intelligence. Knowing the pink-haired boy was unconscious, it shifted its attention to the merchant ship.

This beast, a small wooden boat wasn't enough for a snack.

It wanted them all!

"This is trouble."

Linby's face was ashen. With disaster looming, he naturally couldn't care about the unlucky kid below. Whether the people on this freighter could survive was a question!

He glanced out of the corner of his eye. The Sea King's continuous impacts had made the freighter lose its maneuverability, not to mention that the ship's speed in the sea couldn't compare to a Sea King's.

In a brief moment, he knew there was no escape.

"Damn it!"

Linby lit a cigarette, a trickle of fresh blood slipping from the corner of his mouth, as if he was ready to risk his life.

"Young crew members, take Jon to the safe cabin and try to survive."

"The rest of you old-timers, come with me. We've lived long enough, so let's fight this beast!"

He was about to act. Linby grabbed a large harpoon, determined to at least chip a tooth off this monster even if it meant death.

"Uncle Linby, wait a moment."

Jon's calm voice suddenly interrupted his movements.

?

A question mark appeared above Linby's head. He turned to look at Jon, who was taking off his jacket.

"Give me all the cannonballs on the ship. I'll make this big guy quiet down."

"What are you talking about!"

Linby snapped back without thinking, "Hurry and hide in the safe cabin. This isn't the time for you to play hero. Do you think this is child's play!?"

"Quiet down, Uncle Linby."

Jon tossed aside his jacket and carefully pulled off the thick woolen sweater Bellemere had knitted for him, revealing his powerfully built, aesthetically pleasing body.

Under the shadows, his muscles, hard as iron, rose and fell with his breathing, and his tiger-like back showcased a powerful spinal groove.

"I'm grateful you treat me like a child, but my mom didn't tell you something."

Jon looked at him sideways, his face, just shedding its childishness, exuded a daunting aura.

"In the entire Conomi Islands, there's no man who can fight better than me."

"!!!"

The cigarette in Linby's mouth dropped to the ground, and he was utterly dumbfounded.

He occasionally went to Cocoyasi Village for cargo, but his impression of this child had always been stuck at the "bean sprout" stage. Bellemere's pleading gaze for him to take care of the child had even amused him.

Who knew he'd only realize it now?

That overly bulky maternal love in late autumn had sealed the boy's sculpted physique.

...…

Jon wasn't very confident about fighting the Lord of the Coast one-on-one.

But since he was already here.

It would be truly inexcusable not to take a gamble.

Moreover, Jon never thought he could kill it alone. He just needed to knock it out for a moment and plunder it.

Perhaps the gears of fate would then turn.

Since there was no escape anyway, at this critical juncture, trying was the only way out.

"Listen to Jon, bring all the cannonballs over." Linby threw down the harpoon, making his final decision.

If they couldn't win, everyone would die. He wasn't afraid of Bellemere coming from hell to find him.

The others wanted to say something, but they opened their mouths and found no other solution.

"What are you going to do?" Linby glanced at the box of cannonballs next to Jon.

"Just watch."

The young man's gaze remained fixed on the monster, unwavering.

Roar!!!

Without any time to react, a deafening roar echoed across the sea, making everyone's hearts stop for half a beat.

The next moment, the monstrous head suddenly struck, and as it swooped down, its frenzied eyes fixed on everyone on the deck.

The moment had come!

Jon's leg muscles tensed. Carrying the box of cannonballs, he stomped his arch hard on the deck, using the force to leap into the air. At the same instant, the Sea King opened its massive mouth and swept in.

Swish—

The young man threw a box of cannonballs into the Sea King's mouth, then casually grabbed hundreds of lighters and forcefully hurled them in. A punch, already brimming with power, accurately struck the Sea King's lower jaw!

Puff!

The Sea King was stunned. Before it could be shocked by the little human's strength, a roar suddenly erupted from its mouth. The intense pain made its eyes roll back, and dark green viscous fluid and shattered teeth were blown out, sliding down its throat.

Be more careful!

Jon suppressed his triumphant joy, his eyes filled with ruthlessness. He grabbed a harpoon from the side and leaped up!

Using the power of his leg muscles, he delivered a final blow in mid-air. The immense force granted by the "Beast King" entry made the harpoon, inserted into its right eye, go even deeper, directly striking its skull!

"Roar!!!"

The immense pain brought its consciousness to a critical point. Dazzling blood spurted from the wound, a small portion splashing onto the deck, sizzling and smoking.

Jon was hit on his right side by the thrashing Sea King and fell into the sea. It took him a great deal of effort to climb onto the pink-haired boy's small boat.

This bastard was still unconscious.

Heaven helps me!

Jon squatted down and looked at the pink-haired boy, his eyes filled with pleasant surprise.

He hadn't been wrong just now!

This idiotic kid was the overpowered, runaway king—

Coby!
