After the introductions were over, Nanashi and Megumi returned to his house.
Eriri had originally wanted to stay behind, but sharp-eyed Sayuri immediately saw through her intentions and dragged her away before she could say anything.
Kanae gave Nanashi a soft smile, then quietly retreated to her spiritual space.
Yukino had just finished the laundry.
With her maid duties done for the day, it was time for her to leave.
As she reached the door, she paused—glancing back at the two as if she had something to say… but ultimately said nothing.
She quietly closed the door behind her.
Now it was just Nanashi and Megumi.
For a while, the house was still.
They sat together in the bedroom, surrounded by silence.
The large room somehow felt even larger.
The only sound was their quiet breathing—soft, in sync.
"Nanashi-kun," Megumi said gently, "do you know why I stayed tonight?"
Her voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable tenderness in it.
Without waiting for his reply, she slowly lay down on the bed under his gaze.
There was no need to explain further.
Nanashi understood her heart completely.
"I know," he whispered. "Give yourself to me."
Megumi turned on her side, arms resting lightly against the sheets.
She closed her eyes.
Nanashi leaned in slowly.
…
That night, another girl bloomed into womanhood.
…
Megumi fell into a deep sleep, thoroughly exhausted.
Sweat clung to the hair on her forehead.
Nanashi watched her, a mix of amusement and helplessness in his expression.
During their time together, she had said something that nearly broke his composure:
"Nanashi-kun, I'm safe today."
She'd said it with her usual calm face, just slightly flushed.
And that, of course, had made it even more dangerous for him.
Even with his ability to suppress his aura and breath, her body was still delicate.
So, thinking ahead, he used some of his stored primal energy to help strengthen her physically.
Cleanup, as always, fell to Kanae.
He hadn't even needed to ask—she just appeared afterward, handled everything quietly, then lay down beside them without a word.
With Megumi curled up against his chest, Nanashi didn't sleep.
Something else had caught his attention.
A new member had entered the chat group.
Or rather—three new members.
In the middle of the night, no less.
He sighed and opened the chat window.
The flashing prompt stood out clearly:
[Ding! Chito has joined the chat group!]
[Ding! Seitenshi has joined the chat group!]
[Ding! The Revenger has joined the chat group!]
In a desolate post-apocalyptic winter World
It had been a long time since humanity stood at the peak of civilization.
Now, nearly all of it was gone.
The world had reached its end. Living creatures were vanishing.
Once towering cities had collapsed into labyrinthine ruins, and neglected machines had finally ground to a halt.
No one could say when it had ended.
Or even when it had begun.
In a world that had long lost all sense of time, two girls continued wandering aimlessly.
In the darkness, surrounded by ruins, Chito and Yuuri drove through the night in their beloved Kettenkrad.
They had no destination.
They didn't know how long the journey would last.
In the back seat, the blonde girl, Yuuri, looked up at the stars.
The sky was breathtaking.
And yet… unreachable.
Humans would never reach it again.
She turned her head slightly toward Chito, her tone thoughtful.
Or maybe she was just talking to herself.
"Hey, Chii… do you think we're still alive?"
The black-haired girl at the controls didn't respond.
She kept driving.
"Or maybe we're already dead," Yuuri continued, her voice soft. "Just… wandering through a white world after death."
Still, Chito said nothing.
Yuuri lowered her head, hugging her coat tighter.
"Y'know, they say the world after death is supposed to be warm."
But the bitter wind cut through her coat like a knife, making her shiver despite the thick fabric.
She looked down.
"…Looking at it like this, maybe we're still alive."
She let out a faint laugh.
"Guess that means we're stuck with despair a little longer."
Suddenly, the vehicle came to a stop.
Yuuri looked up, startled.
"…Why'd we stop?"
Chito blinked slowly, staring into the darkness.
"…I think," she said at last, "I just saw a god."
Nanashi: "Chito… Is that really your name?"
He didn't know why.
The moment he saw the name, he spoke without thinking.
Something about it stirred something inside him—an echo of a lonely, desolate tale buried deep in memory.
Chito: "I am Chito. Are you… God?"
Nanashi: "If you want me to be."
It might have been instinct, or something deeper.
This time, unlike before, Nanashi didn't deny the title he once scorned.
For some reason, it felt different.
Everyone who noticed his unusual behavior stayed silent.
Chito: "God… can you tell me how to get along well with despair?"
Nanashi: "…"
The question struck a chord.
It felt all too familiar.
As if his intuition had been right all along.
Nanashi: "Gods are omnipotent. If Chito has a wish, she can try asking one."
Chito: "Eh?! Really?"
Nanashi: "A true god always keeps his word."
Chito: "Haha. But earlier, You said all gods are fake."
Chito: "But if you're a real god… then my wish is to keep Yuuri warm. It feels like her body is losing its warmth."
"…"
Those simple words left a weight in Nanashi's heart—tight, heavy, and hard to shake.
"What's wrong, Nanashi? You look upset."
Kanae reached out, gently brushing his cheek.
"Is something bothering you?" Megumi stirred awake from his chest.
Nanashi smiled and ruffled both their hair. "It's nothing. I just want to go out for a bit."
With that, a portal opened.
For reasons unknown, he left a space beside him—as if expecting someone to follow.
"Megumi, Kanae, cover yourselves with the blanket. Don't catch a cold."
Even if they couldn't actually get cold with their current bodies, they still returned his concern with warm smiles and tucked themselves in.
Nanashi put on his black coat and stepped into the wormhole.
…
On the other side, Chito stared at a strange screen that had appeared out of nowhere.
It said she was speaking with a god.
She wasn't sure if it was real—or just some kind of hallucination.
Still, it was fun. Talking to a god was strangely comforting.
But once she made her wish, the "god" stopped responding.
Just like Yuuri had said—gods were probably fake after all.
Suddenly, a new prompt appeared:
[A member of the chat group Nanashi requested permission to travel to your current world. Do you agree?]
Chito stopped the Kettenkrad.
After thinking for a moment, she chose yes.
She didn't know what would happen.
But a part of her hoped—maybe, just maybe—her wish would come true.
Yuuri: "Why'd we stop?"
"…"
"I think… I've really met a god."
"God? That's just make-believe, isn't it? Did you really make a wish, Chii?"
"Yeah. I wished for you to feel warm again."
"Haha, that's such a small wish. If it were me, I'd wish for some tasty canned food tomorrow."
"Maybe… your wish could be a bit bigger."
"Whoa! Someone's talking! Is it a ghost?!"
Yuuri yelped and clung tightly to Chito.
"Who's there…?"
Chito looked toward the front of the vehicle.
A man in a black coat stood quietly, smiling at them gently.
"Didn't you just make a wish to me?"
"Are… are you really a god?" Chito asked, dazed.
Yuuri blinked, confused and wide-eyed.
"So this is the god Chii-chan saw… I think I can see him too. So he really exists?"
"Yes," Nanashi replied softly.
He was already thinking about how to help these two girls.
He could take Yuuri away using his Domination skill.
But chat group members couldn't remain in other worlds permanently.
Separating the two girls was not an option.
Just then, a new system notification appeared:
[Ding! The world of group member Chito has entered a post-apocalyptic state. Initiating permanent migration option for special members!]
[In the world after the apocalypse, group members may spend 10,000 Doomsday Points to permanently migrate to another member's world!]
Perfect timing!
Just when Nanashi was wondering what to do, the answer presented itself.
He looked at them and asked directly: "Would you like to leave this place? To go to a world where humans still live?"
"Wait!"
Yuuri's voice broke through the stillness—soft but trembling with uncertainty.
"…Are there really no humans left in this world?"
Nanashi shook his head.
The moment he arrived, he had activated his Bankai to detect and dominate any remaining life.
But aside from Chito and Yuuri, there was no one.
The engineers they once believed they might meet—gone.
This world was even more hopeless than the final journey he had heard of.
"I'm not a god… but I am real. If you believe in me, will you come with me?"
Nanashi extended his right hand.
The two girls exchanged uncertain glances.
They weren't sure what to believe.
Hope was terrifying—because after hope came the fear of deeper despair.
Chito clenched her fist.
"If… you can grant my wish."
"No problem."
Nanashi gently placed his hand on Yuuri's cheek.
"…It's warm."
The freezing cold that clung to her body vanished.
Replaced by comfort—by warmth, real warmth…
"…I'm not dead, am I?"
Chito reached out and held Yuuri's hand.
"You! You're still warm! You're alive!"
Chito's tears fell before she could stop them.
For the first time in what felt like forever, they had found hope.
"It seems… you've made your decision."
Nanashi looked at them with a soft smile.
"Yes. Please, God—take us away. We want to live… somewhere where people still exist."
"As you wish."
