A woman let out a horrified scream, stunned by what she was seeing on the screen.
If she didn't know this was a live feed, she would've thought she was watching some big-budget movie.
This situation was absolutely insane. She'd originally thought that resurrecting the dead, using Dionysium to enhance Talons, and creating Beast-slayers was already pushing the limits of possibility.
But who could explain what the hell was happening on that screen now?
Never mind the two vigilantes who'd been active in Gotham recently—the weapons they wielded were incredibly powerful.
But that guy who looked like some kind of warrior had already surpassed her understanding of what humans could do, not to mention the demons pouring out of that rift that had suddenly torn open.
"Fantastic! This is simply amazing!"
A man in a white owl mask shouted frantically, completely captivated by what he was witnessing.
These demons were everything he'd pursued his entire life. Not only were they incredibly powerful, but they could even control flames as weapons.
Of course, he was also fascinated by the Harrow form that Marcus had transformed into. This guy could intercept all those demons single-handedly. If they could capture and study all his abilities, the Court of Owls would gain unprecedented power.
"I'm going to catch these guys!"
"Catch them? Don't be stupid," someone said coldly. "Didn't you see our Talons get completely wiped out in their attack? The current Talons aren't even qualified to get close to them."
This speaker remained extremely calm, even after witnessing the carnage on screen, still analyzing the situation rationally.
Although he also wanted to master this incredible power, he understood that their current Talons were no match for these individuals at all.
"Send out the remaining Talons. They only need to collect samples from those demons. As long as we obtain demon tissue, we can gradually master their power."
"Agreed!"
"Agreed!"
"..."
Voice after voice endorsed this person's suggestion.
They all knew that their existing Talons, even enhanced with Dionysium and Electrum, were no match for this group.
The Talons didn't need to attack anyone directly—they just needed to collect demon fragments, and they would soon master demonic power from those samples.
After a moment, Talons hidden throughout Gotham began rushing toward the hell portal's location.
For a while, something very interesting was happening in Gotham. Ordinary citizens were trying to escape the danger, wanting to get as far away from those Beast-slayers as possible.
Meanwhile, gangsters and police kept rushing toward the Beast-slayers' location, and occasionally a few dark shadows could be seen leaping across rooftops.
"Damn it, why are there suddenly so many people?"
Harvey cursed. He didn't need to guess that these people rushing toward Gordon's position alongside them were underlings of Gotham's various bosses.
Since Falcone's fall, Gotham had become increasingly chaotic. These independent gangsters all wanted to succeed Falcone and become Gotham's new king.
As for who had leaked the information to these bosses, he didn't even need to think about it. It had to be some of the corrupt cops behind him.
That's why he didn't want to lose Gordon as a partner. Although Gordon's integrity could be annoying sometimes, he was at least much better than these backstabbing bastards. Gordon was a partner worth having.
Harvey slammed the accelerator, and their car began speeding toward Gordon's position.
"Hold on, Gordon! I don't want to break in another new partner!"
Meanwhile, Gordon—the subject of Harvey's concern—was currently shooting at demons.
He'd already exhausted all his ammunition. If Marcus hadn't tossed him a box of shells, he would've had no choice but to fight these terrifying demons with an empty shotgun.
Flames continued spitting from his gun barrel, and every shot blew off a demon's head.
However, this didn't make things easy for Gordon. He was only facing a small number of demons. It was Marcus's summoned sea beast and the three staff-wielding Resonators who were really eliminating the demon horde.
He could clearly see countless demons being smashed to death by the sea creature's water-formed tentacles, while the three Resonators spun like whirlwinds, rampaging through the demon ranks. Wherever they passed, all demons were torn into fragments scattered in pools of black blood.
"Why are there so many of these damn things?" Gordon thought to himself.
His arms were aching from constant shooting, but the demons showed no signs of decreasing—they kept pouring out of the hell portal.
After blowing off another demon's head, Gordon flexed his sore arms and looked at Marcus, who was blocking the hell passage.
The Incinerator burning with blue flames in Marcus's hands released wave-like energy blasts, all of them striking the hell portal.
It unleashed countless cyan-blue binding chains, trying to seal that hell passage.
But the effect of those chains was limited. Although many demons had been killed by the burning flames, they couldn't close the portal to hell.
"Pharaoh's Light has decent killing power, but it's not helping much with sealing the hell passage."
With that, Marcus pulled out another modification.
"Let's try the space enhancement that contains Cosmic Cube energy."
The enhancement infused with Space Stone characteristics made the Incinerator in Marcus's hand emit spatial fluctuations. The blue flames seemed to actually burn through space itself, causing reality to distort around the weapon.
Void Chains
The weapon slammed into a demon, and the crushed body told Marcus it had been completely destroyed by the impact.
The blue flame-like energy waves released from the Incinerator kept spreading, covering the hell passage.
The chains released from the energy waves actually froze the bound demons in place, freezing them along with the space around them.
"Let's see what tricks you've got this time!"
Marcus muttered, constantly channeling energy, trying to close the shackles burning with blue flames.
But this time, it wasn't as immovable as before. The hell tunnel began to tremble, then started to shrink.
"Ha! It's actually working!"
Just as he spoke, he saw the hell passage shrink slightly before stopping.
Marcus also felt a powerful force preventing the hell portal from closing further.
The strength of both sides was nearly equal, and the chains around the passage could only be seen tightening continuously, making grinding, rattling sounds.
"So you're finally making your move?"
This sudden resistance didn't surprise Marcus. If his opponent hadn't intervened, he wouldn't have needed to use two different enhancements to reach this level.
But he wouldn't give up. He really wanted to meet whoever was maintaining this hell passage.
Raising the Incinerator, Marcus channeled all his strength and brought it crashing down on the hell portal in front of him.
BOOM!!!
Blue flames shot skyward, and a spherical energy wave spread rapidly outward,
