Maybe because the mace was stuck on the ground because it was too heavy or something else, but the goblin leader wasn't immediately able to raise it back again.
This gave Misery Prime the opening that was needed to rip through the leader's body.
A loud whoosh sound reverberated throughout the surroundings and in a flash Misery Prime had climbed over, his tiny legs wrapping around the goblin leader's neck.
Shocked and furious, the goblin grabbed Misery's legs and tried to throw him away only to realize that he couldn't. This realization caused his face to darken. It wasn't surprising that he wasn't able to do what he wanted.
At this time Misery Prime's strength was something that he couldn't imagine. In the next moment Misery Prime let out unbridled laughter and started smashing the goblin's head with his fist.
Every time the fist and flesh made contact, crimson blood was sent flying in every direction.
With each punch Misery Prime's speed increased, one punch after the other. In few moments the goblin looked barely unrecognizable. Its face had become a total mess, its two eyes seemed to have burst into a gooey liquid, slowly dripping down.
Still there was not a shred of mercy or hesitation in Misery Prime's eyes. The brutal beat down continued.
At this time Alexander finally reacted. He rubbed his eyes again to make sure if his eyes were working properly and in just few minutes, the scene in front of him was very real.
He didn't know how but somehow the strange boy had managed to kill all the goblins, meaning...
Alexander suddenly slumped on the ground, his legs spread wide open. That was for later, he didn't want to think about anything now.
He was going to enjoy the moment of peace. For now there was no goblin that would jump to rip his throat open.
Only he knew just how difficult it was to survive up to this point.
Although no words were exchanged between them, somehow Zarek could exactly tell just what was going on through the man's head and he didn't blame him even one bit.
If he had been in the man's position his reaction would be no different. The only reason that he had managed to survive was only because of...
...luck.
Suddenly a strange expression appeared on Zarek's face. He wanted to laugh out loud, he couldn't believe his own thoughts.
From the very beginning Zarek's luck had been absolutely average, and now he was surviving because of luck.
The situation felt strange to the point, Zarek felt a weird feeling in his heart.
He could feel there was something wrong but exactly what he wasn't sure.
Before he could think further, his thoughts were interrupted by a loud clanking sound reverberating through the surroundings.
Zarek's gaze immediately shifted. Not only his, the other Misery Prime were also looking around with curiosity.
He immediately noticed, the goblin boss was gone, turning into particles of light slowly flying away.
Unconsciously Zarek swallowed his saliva, his pupils widening automatically.
A single thought in his mind:
"Is this what I think it is?"
The world of "Beyond Good and Evil" was a very strange place. Depending on the amount of mana a warrior had upon death, there was a slight chance that mana before merging would go through some kind of strange reaction and turn into some item or even a skill.
However as the mana carried by first sequence was very little, they very rarely dropped anything. Only beings starting with sequence second dropped anything valuable.
Zarek of course was very familiar with this, as such it was no wonder his reaction was so exaggerated.
However in the next moment a slightly disappointed look appeared in his eyes.
"It's a weapon," he thought while looking at what appeared to be a sword in Misery Prime's hands.
The sword was dark golden in color with countless engravings along the blade and hilt, giving it a truly mysterious appearance. It measured just over a meter in length and its width was approximately four fingers of an adult's hand.
As the saying goes, human greed could never be satisfied. Zarek hoped to get a skill.
Although he already had four skills, none of them gave direct offensive power.
He hoped to have ability to shoot fireballs at his enemies hiding behind his loyal summons.
That would have been the ideal situation.
Thinking up to this point and realizing just how greedy his thoughts were, he shook his head.
For now he had to be satisfied with this sword.
While he was thinking, Misery Prime carried the sword almost as large as his own body effortlessly as if it weighed nothing.
In no time Misery Prime stood before Zarek with a look in his eyes that seemed to say "praise me."
Without a word Zarek took the sword from his hand. As soon as his fingers wrapped around the sword's hilt, a blue window popped in front of him:
[BloodReaper: Its power is enough to pierce through the defenses of almost any creature below level 25 and its edge capable of piercing through the defenses of any first sequence armor. When equipped, Strength +5].
"What a treasure!"
Zarek sincerely exclaimed. With this sword one of his weaknesses could be easily solved. Although his mana had grown at an insane rate, his strength was starting to fall behind.
With this sword everything could be fixed. However Zarek shook his head and returned the sword back to Misery Prime.
As most of the fighting in the end would be done by Misery Prime, so in his hands the sword would be put to great use.
Misery Prime seemed slightly surprised by his master's reaction, not expecting his master to bestow the sword upon him. Still with hesitation he took the sword back.
Zarek looked at this scene with a calm look on his face, a little anticipation also building in his eyes.
He wanted to see how Misery Prime would use the sword to deal with monsters.
With that he turned his head to look at Misery's stats. He wanted to see how the sword would affect Misery Prime's strength.
[First Sequence Summon – Misery] [Grade: Regular] [Infinite Origin: 113] [Strength: 4.6(+5)] + [Agility: 1.3] + [Perception: 0.9] + [Physique: 1.4] + [Mana: 0.1] +
Skill: Prey Sense (Level 1)
Zarek had canceled the infinite origin link to take a better look, and indeed while equipping the sword, Misery's strength had increased.
While Zarek was looking at Misery's stats, Alexander's eyes also flickered, a strange emotion rising in his heart.
Just one look and he could tell the sword was precious. Alexander also wanted something like this.
However as soon as that thought appeared in his mind, he shook his head, and tried to get up.
Meanwhile Zarek after taking a look also shifted his focus on the giant gate leading to the second floor.
It was time to move to the second floor.
