For a moment, Zarek felt his perception shift, as if he had grown eyes in the back of his head. His senses tingled, he could feel multiple gazes filled with murderous intent focused on his body.
After a moment of thought Zarek had understood what had happened. It was the prey sense skill.
Meanwhile while Zarek was analyzing the foreign sensation, the Miseries who were being pushed back underwent a drastic transformation, their beady eyes turning white like two pieces of marbles, focusing on the goblins.
Without a doubt it was absolute combat mode in action.
However compared to when Zarek used it, the Miseries' eyes didn't turn completely white; there was still a hint of redness.
And indeed although Miseries' battle sense was heightened by almost two hundred percent, they still could not predict the monsters' next moves.
Of course Zarek was still aware about it, but he could somewhat feel what each of his summons was experiencing.
Zarek watched this scene and felt a sense of déjà vu. It felt as if he was looking at his mirror image.
In the blink of an eye he reacted and came out of his shocked state. Once again his eyes narrowed with concentration. Zarek wasn't done yet, not just yet.
While thinking, his gaze moved towards his stats. He hesitated for a brief moment before transferring ten points of his mana, adding them to Misery's strength.
Immediately a severe headache caused his vision to blur. Zarek however gritted his teeth and scanned for his summons.
The thirteen Misery were all present. Like divine warriors they tore through the bodies of goblins surrounding them. The goblins were not even able to touch a single Misery, much less kill one of them.
Zarek clutched his head in pain and fell to the ground straight on his butt.
This was the gamble that he had decided to make. Fortunately his thoughts were proven correct.
He had a feeling mana was needed only to summon the clones of Misery, not to keep them in existence. This wasn't something that he thought on a whim but based on sound reasoning. Earlier when Misery Prime had followed him all the way to here, he didn't feel exhausted. That was enough to prove the mana needed to summon was only a one-time thing.
Now after he had summoned the Miseries, there was nothing that he could do with mana, so he actively transferred over ten points to Misery, increasing their strength by a large margin.
This was his masterplan to clear the first floor entrance.
And indeed in the next moment the situation changed drastically. Feeling the vast amount of strength surging through their veins, Misery Prime's lips parted and an unbridled laugh escaped his mouth.
"Come to me, all of you!"
For the first time ever, a complete sentence escaped out of his mouth.
The ten points that Zarek had transferred not only increased his strength, but they also seemed to have increased Misery's intelligence, albeit only by a little bit.
Puchi!
One punch and the goblin which was trying to attack Misery Prime erupted into a shower of blood. Seventeen points of strength was no laughing matter. A warrior with that much strength was already someone at the verge of reaching second sequence, an entity in a different league of their own.
However for the poor goblins, there was not only Misery Prime that they had to deal with, but twelve other Miseries no less fearsome than the demon in front of them.
While the Miseries were showing overwhelming strength, Zarek's strength was incredibly low. If some goblin attacked him now they could easily harm him or even kill him.
Not only was Zarek aware of his own weakness, but Miseries were also aware of this, so unconsciously they had formed an impenetrable shield with Zarek at the back, not letting even a single goblin pass through.
Zarek took rapid deep breaths and his condition slowly improved, allowing him to stand up and slowly move forward. In the meantime, under the command of Misery Prime, one of the Misery came over to guard Zarek against any accident while the remaining twelve of them moved forward like an unstoppable tide, simply crushing the goblins to meat patty.
One after the other, notifications constantly rang in Zarek's ears:
[Regular goblin killed x12]
...
Notifications continued to ring. Zarek could only ignore them. However when the horde was reduced to one third of its original size, Zarek heard the familiar notification that made his headache go away:
"Congratulations, respected summoner, you have leveled up!"
...
Zarek didn't even bother reading rest of the notifications but simply added all the five stat points that he had gotten to mana, and immediately the next moment he transferred all of them back to Misery.
Immediately the Miseries' strength took another leap. Zarek ignored the headache and looked at the scene of Miseries crushing the bodies with a grin on his face.
"This is it, this is the true power of the ultimate grade class!"
This unstoppable massacre continued for a few minutes and of the original hundred plus goblins only one remained.
The leader who was commanding the horde.
Right now the eyes of the large goblin were filled with fear as it looked at blood-soaked Misery Prime moving toward him, flashing his rows of silvery white teeth.
The goblin felt fear. The hand holding the giant mace trembled. However it was of no use; neither Zarek nor Misery Prime were going to show any mercy.
Without a word, Misery Prime let out laughter and jumped, his mouth opened wide, clearly intending to take a bite out of the goblin leader's neck.
Although the leader was fearful, but facing certain death it was able to react and raised the mace above his head in an attempt to swat Misery Prime to the ground.
But at this time Misery Prime's smile suddenly widened. In an action defying gravity, Misery Prime was able to rotate his body mid-air. The mace, fueled by a last ditch attempt to save his life, only brushed his leather armor.
Boom!
With a thunderous shockwave the mace struck the ground, grinding the stones to powder.
