"Fuck off," Soren muttered, clearly annoyed.
I couldn't help it—I burst out laughing.
"Our beloved Soren doesn't want to talk about what made him fall for her," I teased, grinning like I just won a prize.
The others chuckled too. The mood was light until it shifted.
We all froze the moment we heard that voice.
"Oooh wow," Father's voice echoed through the dining room. "What more could I pray for than my sons finally eating breakfast with me."
He smiled as he approached the table. But not one of us returned the smile.
We just stared at our food and began eating again like nothing happened.
"Slow down, children," he chuckled, still wearing that warm fatherly smile that felt… fake, honestly.
But no one replied. Forks clinked against plates. No eye contact. No acknowledgment. Just the sound of chewing and silence.
