Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Yunna agreed, and when Xael heard her response, he let out a quiet sigh of relief. The corners of his lips lifted slightly. He didn't even realize how scared he had been to hear her say no.

"My dowry is with my sister. She'll talk to Lady Nyla about it. I'll take my leave now." Xael bowed politely to Yunna and left the room right after.

Outside, Sister Yang heard their conversation and saw her brother's smiling face. From that alone, she knew everything had gone well.

"Looks like I'll leave the wedding preparations to you, Sister." Xael said with a slightly awkward look on his face as he bowed to his sister and left.

Yunna was a bit stunned seeing Xael leave with a smile. Thinking about having to face such a handsome man every day in the future, with his cool and reserved vibe like a strict CEO, she couldn't help but admit to herself that she was starting to fall for him a little.

Sister Yang walked in and saw Yunna still staring in the direction Xael had gone. She chuckled and asked, "So, Lady Yunna, are you satisfied with my brother? When do you plan to marry him?"

"Very satisfied. Anytime is fine." Yunna replied without thinking.

The moment the words left her mouth, she realized what she had just said and instantly felt like vanishing. Oh no. Did she just say her true thoughts out loud?

This is so embarrassing.

Just as she was about to say something else, her stomach growled loudly.

In the quiet room, the sound was especially noticeable. Yunna immediately lowered her head, feeling completely embarrassed. She wanted to go back to her world. This was so socially painful.

"Oh dear. It's my fault for rushing everything. I forgot that Lady Yunna just woke up and must be hungry. Someone, bring in the food." Sister Yang quickly said with a laugh when she heard Yunna's stomach growl.

"Yes, Mistress." The servant at the door responded and went to get the meal.

"Lady Yunna, your body still needs rest. Take a few days to recover first. There's no rush with the wedding." Sister Yang smiled as she stood up and prepared to leave.

She felt Yunna was already embarrassed enough and wanted to give her some space. Also, Xael's dowry needed some careful arranging. She had only brought six thousand silver notes this time, which should be enough.

"Thank you, Sister Yang."

After she left, Yunna slumped onto the bench with an awkward sigh. Ugh, how did she end up agreeing to marry someone just because he looked handsome?

This was only her second day after time-traveling, right? Wasn't everything happening a bit too fast?

"Lady Yunna, the food is ready. May we come in?" a servant asked politely from outside.

"Come in," Yunna replied.

Whatever, let's eat first. She hadn't eaten for an entire day and night.

Yunna's eyes lit up as the servants brought in the dishes one by one. Wow, the food here looked pretty good.

Once the table was set, the servants stepped back, leaving two young men behind to serve her. One of them was the same man she saw earlier when she first woke up.

Yunna felt a bit awkward and said, "You two can leave. I can serve myself."

The two men instantly dropped to their knees, looking frightened. "Forgive us. Did Lady Yunna not like us serving you?"

"No no, it's not that. Please don't kneel. I'm just not used to being served like this. I can eat by myself. I didn't mean anything bad." Yunna quickly explained, flustered.

These two looked like well-mannered young men from a noble household, even though they were dressed as servants. Seeing them kneel down so suddenly really startled her.

The two men looked at each other in confusion. Weren't women usually served like this since childhood? They had followed their young master since they were kids and were trained to become his personal attendants. In the future, they would be expected to take care of his wife as well.

That's why they had been assigned to assist Lady Yunna. But it seemed like she didn't like them at all. She didn't even want them to help with the food. Would the young master be angry and sell them off?

They definitely didn't want to be sold. For a man, being sold meant only ending up in a brothel or some other low-class place. That kind of life would be worse than death.

Both of them realized something was wrong and got even more scared.

After Yunna spoke, she looked at the two people trembling on the ground and felt confused. What was wrong with them? Was it a problem that she wanted to eat by herself?

"Lady Yunna, we will serve you well. Please don't let the young master sell us."

"You two, stand up. Can't I eat by myself?" Yunna's mind went blank for a moment. Right now, she was really hungry. She just wanted to eat!

"Get up. If you keep acting like this, I'll tell your young master." Yunna said, annoyed.

The two on the floor were shocked and immediately stood up. They lowered their heads and didn't move.

Yunna ignored them and started eating quickly. She was starving. She didn't care that they were still standing nearby.

Once she was full and put down her chopsticks, one of them handed her a cup of water to rinse her mouth. Yunna paused for a moment, but still took it, rinsed her mouth, and spat into the cup beside her. The other one reached out with a cloth, trying to wipe her mouth.

Yunna took the cloth herself, wiped her mouth, and handed it back.

The two stood with their heads down, waiting for her to speak.

"Are you both with Xael?"

"Yes, Lady Yunna. We've been with the young master since we were little. He told us to come and serve you."

"I don't like people waiting on me. Go back to Xael. Just bring the meals each time, that's enough," Yunna said directly.

While she was eating, she had thought about it. In this world, women were treated like delicate treasures, with servants helping them with everything, even eating and dressing. But since she had just arrived here, she still wasn't used to it.

The original Yunna used to have personal servants too. Her father had left some behind when she was young, but her stepfather later found reasons to send all of them away.

After that, the only servants she had were chosen by her stepfather. They always tried to get her to do foolish things, all to make others dislike her. Yunna sighed. Only someone like the original Yunna would believe in such obvious tricks.

Thankfully, she had been thrown out. At least she didn't have to deal with those disgusting people anymore. Otherwise, she wouldn't even be able to eat.

"Clean this up. I'm going to rest for a while." Yunna didn't want to think anymore, so she gave a clear order.

"We'll leave now."

Later, a few other servants came in to clear the table and quietly left.

Yunna lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking about how she should live from now on.

The two servants who had just served her were now kneeling on the ground.

"She didn't let you serve her? She said she didn't like being served, and even ate by herself without your help?" Xael asked with surprise.

"Yes, young master. Please punish us. We failed to do our duty."

Xael lightly tapped the table with his fingers, thinking. Yunna had grown up in the Su family and should have always had people taking care of her. Why did she suddenly not want to be served anymore?

Could it be that something happened when she fell off the cliff? Maybe she doesn't trust anyone now?

The two kneeling were shaking slightly. They were afraid the young master might sell them for not serving Lady Yunna well.

"Spring Day, you two stay in front of Lady Yunna's room and follow her instructions," Xael said after thinking for a while.

"Yes, young master," Spring Day and Spring Frost replied.
