Episode 34: The Beast of Memory

The shadow beast lunged forward, its wings slicing the air with a deafening roar. Its eyes glowed like dying stars—ancient, furious, hungry.

Juvia and Ha-jun braced themselves.

Clang!

Their blades clashed against its claws, the shockwave sending Luna stumbling back. The ground cracked beneath them, the air trembling with unspoken magic.

"Don't let it reach the obelisk!" Luna shouted. "If it absorbs the memories sealed there—"

"It'll become unstoppable," Ha-jun finished, slashing upward. His blade left a trail of silver fire, burning the creature's wing. The beast howled, twisting in agony.

Juvia leaped into the air, spinning midflight. "Moonlight Pierce!"

She drove the Moonblade into the beast's back. The shrine flashed with radiant energy, sending pulses through the dark air like waves in a storm.

But the beast didn't fall.

Instead, it laughed—a terrible, echoing sound.

"You think you are different from your past? You will fall the same way… together."

It slammed its tail, sweeping Ha-jun aside. He crashed against the wall, coughing blood.

"Ha-jun!" Juvia cried.

She turned, but the beast was already in front of her, fangs bared, jaws wide.

Time slowed.

Something deep within her awoke.

Her eyes blazed white.

The Moonblade pulsed and changed—its silver turning gold, its runes shifting.

Juvia screamed, a glowing aura wrapping around her like armor. The beast hesitated for the first time.

From behind the mist, voices rose—a chorus of her past selves. Moon Warriors of every age.

"You are the last… the strongest. End this."

With a roar of her own, Juvia launched herself forward.

She moved like lightning, faster than thought, cutting through shadow with divine fury.

The beast wailed, its form breaking apart.

Ha-jun, staggering to his feet, held up his blade. "Now, Juvia! Finish it!"

She drove the blade into the core of the creature—and light exploded across the shrine.

The beast screamed—shattered—and vanished into nothingness.

Silence.

Smoke drifted through the air. The room trembled, then stilled.

Juvia collapsed to her knees, panting.

Ha-jun rushed to her, falling beside her. "You did it…"

She looked into his eyes, trembling. "I didn't do it alone."

They shared a quiet moment, their hands touching, hearts beating in sync.

But the chamber wasn't done yet.

The obelisk, now cracked open, revealed a glowing orb. Inside it floated a single feather—silver, shimmering, and strangely warm.

Luna stepped forward. "The Feather of Truth…"

Juvia reached out.

The moment her fingers touched it, visions rushed through her again—not of war or pain, but of love. The first time she and Ha-jun met. The laughter. The quiet moments. The promise they once made under the same moonlight.

"I'll find you in every life," he had once said.

And now, here they were.

As Juvia held the Feather of Truth, the chamber bathed them in moonlight—blessing them. Preparing them.

For something even greater was coming.
