Episode 26: Echoes of Her Past

The stars above still shimmered faintly, but the forest lay in ruins. Trees cracked and splintered, the air thick with smoke and moonlit mist. In the center of it all, Juvia slept—wrapped in the soft glow of her fading Moonfire. Her chest rose and fell gently, as if the battle had drained not just her strength, but something deeper.

Ha-jun carried her to a quiet cave beneath the roots of an ancient tree, its entrance hidden by glowing vines and protective charms. Luna followed, her staff in hand, eyes constantly scanning the shadows.

"She's burning up," Ha-jun said, placing Juvia gently on a soft bed of moss. "That power… It wasn't meant to awaken yet."

"She forced it," Luna murmured. "The Moonblade answered, but her body isn't ready."

"She could have died."

"But she didn't," Luna said, placing her hand on Juvia's forehead. "Because she's more than we thought."

As Ha-jun turned away, guilt clouded his expression. He clenched his fists. "I should have protected her."

Luna paused. "You can't protect her from fate."

Just then, Juvia stirred.

Her breath hitched. Her fingers twitched. And suddenly—her mind was no longer in the cave.

She stood in a strange place.

A battlefield bathed in silver. Broken weapons littered the ground. Above, two moons hung in the sky. And there, in the heart of the chaos, a woman who looked just like her stood—her armor gleaming like starlight, face hardened, a sword of light in her hands.

Juvia watched in awe.

"She is me…"

The woman fought a creature made of shadows—its body a storm, its voice a scream. They clashed, light against dark, until finally, the woman drove the sword into the beast's chest.

But not before it struck her down.

As she fell, she turned… and looked straight at Juvia.

"Find me."

And everything went white.

Juvia gasped awake. Her body soaked in sweat. Ha-jun rushed to her side. "You're awake!"

She looked at him, dazed. "I… I saw her."

"Who?"

"My past self… The first Moon Warrior. She told me to find her."

Luna's eyes widened. "Then the Echo has begun."

Ha-jun looked confused. "The Echo?"

Luna nodded. "When the Moonblade bonds with its chosen, pieces of the first warrior's soul begin to awaken in them. Memories. Strength. Secrets. But only if she follows the trail."

Juvia sat up slowly, determination building in her voice. "Then I need to follow it. I need to find who I was… to know what I must become."

Ha-jun met her gaze, his hand tightening on his sword. "Then we'll go together."

Outside, the sky turned crimson.

The Watcher had survived. And in the ruins of the forest, he raised a single black feather from the ground.

"Let the Moon bleed," he whispered.
