Chapter 17 - Broken Arm

The huge force made Xia Shang retreat several steps, but fortunately, the next attack was blocked by Mickey.

The clash between the tentacles left a trail of afterimages in the air. Clang clang clang! The sound of metal collisions continued. Xia Shang, who had a chance to catch his breath, checked the iron sword in his hand. It was a pity that the long sword he had just obtained was bent beyond recognition after the previous blow.

Parasite A saw that it could not get rid of Xia Shang in the first place.

So he shifted his attention to Shinichi. As long as he killed Shinichi, he would be able to get rid of Xia Shang who had just been injured without any effort.

"The quality of this iron sword is really fucking shit. It seems I have to rely on myself." As he spoke, Xia Shang's right arm had transformed into a sword blade made of flesh and blood. The silver-white blade reflected the unique cold light of sharp metal under the sunlight.

His physical strength cannot compare to that of the parasitic beast, so this battle must be resolved quickly.

Xia Shang was very patient. After all, the opportunity was fleeting. "Now." He waved his hand and slashed at the chest of Parasite A.

Unexpectedly, parasitic beast A grew another tentacle, and as Xia Shang approached, it slashed towards him diagonally.

Now Xia Shang faces two choices: either give up this precious opportunity to attack, or die together with Parasite A.

Faced with these two choices, Xia Shang said he would not choose either one!

He turned his body sideways without hesitation and used his other arm to block the tentacle that was coming at him diagonally. At the same time, he turned the sword and slashed across the opponent's left arm.

In an instant.

Two streams of blood gushed out from the broken arms of Parasite A and Xia Shang respectively.

Immediately afterwards, Xia Shang rolled over and picked up his broken arm, then endured the pain and pressed his arm onto the broken end.

"Xia Jun!" Quan Xin's eyes were filled with tears. He used up all his courage and stabbed the chair leg made of hollow steel pipe into the abdomen of parasite A. Soon, the blood of parasite A flowed out along the steel pipe.

The loss of a large amount of blood made Parasite A suddenly become extremely weak.

If he continues to stay here, he will surely die.

"Idiot, I can heal, can you?" Xia Shang stood up shakily. His face was frighteningly pale and his forehead was covered with beads of sweat. However, when he saw the parasitic beast A who was even worse off than himself, he couldn't help laughing.

Parasite A did not say anything, but dragged its bleeding body towards the direction where Tamiya Yoshiko was.

"Shinichi, take this opportunity to put an end to it!"

Mickey didn't want anything to go wrong so he said to Shinichi.

Shinichi looked at the other party, but couldn't bring himself to do it, because Parasyte A had already turned back into a normal human. "No, I don't want to. If I continue like this, I'll be killing someone."

Seeing that Quan Shinichi was reluctant to take action, Xia Shang had no choice but to pick up the iron sword on the ground and chase after him.

"It's alright, then let me finish it."

Xia Shang gripped the hilt of the sword tightly and swung it. Facing the attack from behind, Parasite A had lost all ability to resist. With a puff, its head rolled onto the corridor and then quickly decayed and shrank.

"It takes a lot of effort to kill you." After making sure that the other party was really dead, Xia Shang's whole body seemed to have lost its spine, and he swayed and slid down the wall.

"Shinichi, he's dying from excessive blood loss. Take him to the hospital immediately."

Mickey reminded in time.

"Mr. Xia, hold on. I'll take you to the hospital now." Shinichi immediately carried Xia Shang on his back and rushed downstairs. On the way, Xia Shang only felt that the scene in front of his eyes became more and more blurred, and his head was dizzy. When he finally fell into coma, he vaguely heard the voices of many people exclaiming.

"Now quickly put this student into the police car and have it take him to the hospital."

"Isn't that the Sword Master? What happened? Why did he faint?"

...

It was unknown how long it had been before Xia Shang opened his eyes drowsily. The first thing that caught his eye was the clean white ceiling.

"I killed a parasitic beast and ended up in the hospital. Hiss... why do I still have a headache?" Due to his previous experience, Xia Shang was not used to the hospital environment. He glanced at the IV bottle beside the bed and guessed that it should contain glucose.

Xia Shang used both hands to sit up and opened the panel.

[Transformation talent integration in progress, current progress 69%]

[Countdown for player retention time: 142 days]

"This coma actually wasted two days." Xia Shang said as he looked at the countdown on the panel.

"Nurse in charge of bed 36, please note that the patient in bed 36 has woken up. Please rush to ward 36 as soon as possible."

As the reminder sounded in the ward.

Soon, a female nurse in a nurse's uniform pushed open the door of the ward, walked to Xia Shang's side, and began to check whether his body data was normal. "Excuse me, are you feeling unwell?"

the nurse asked softly.

Xia Shang, who was lying on the hospital bed, shook his head. "I feel fine now. When can I go out?"

"Not yet. Your blood sugar is a little low right now. You need to be observed for another day. If all the data are stable, you can go through the discharge procedures." The female nurse took out an unopened bottle of glucose, opened it skillfully, and hung it up for Xia Shang.

"You need to stay in the hospital for another day for observation? I don't have the money to pay you."

The yen given by the panel was not enough to support his hospitalization for so long.

Unexpectedly, the nurse smiled at him and said with a tone of admiration: "You are now a news figure in the media. You single-handedly solved the gangsters who broke into the school. Currently, many people in the society are donating money to you."

Her words left Xia Shang confused and unable to figure out the situation.

After asking the nurse for his cell phone, he finally understood what was going on.

It turned out that when Izumi Shinichi was asked by the school why he fainted, he told the general course of events. However, he concealed many details, such as the fact that he knew the true identity of Parasyte A. He only said that Xia Shang was found next to the man's body.

As a result, the news that the Sword Saint of Xigao killed the gangster alone went viral on the Internet.

He, Xia Shang, became famous overnight again, and in the whole of Tokyo.

"Now I can't take off the hat of the Sword Saint." Xia Shang said helplessly.

Soon, the news of Xia Shang's awakening was known to the media and the school. Within just one meal's time, Xia Shang's bedside was crowded with various news media who came to interview him.

"There is a rumor going around that the criminals who broke into the school were not actually humans, but an unknown creature. What do you think about this? Was the creature you fought against really not a human?" The reporter with the entertainment logo asked Xia Shang.
