Chapter 470 - Chapter 470 : Sky Showdown: Final Battle

"Humans are really fascinating creatures~" he murmured, licking the blood from his blade with a twisted grin. "Even when they were begging for mercy... the sound of their spine snapping reminded me of a Chopin nocturne."

The glass of the dessert shop exploded outward. A fiery updraft roared into the sky, tearing through Hell's Kitchen like a dragon of heat and smoke. The blast blew Byakuran's napkin skyward, fluttering through the air like a flag over a battlefield.

From the inferno emerged the First Generation.

They strode across the scorched remnants of a tablecloth, flames licking their heels. The golden embroidery on their cloaks shone with the brilliance of a morning star—radiant against the void of the ruined city.

"Using the Ring's power to prey on the weak," murmured the First, his golden pupils igniting with a cold and righteous fury.

Above, Byakuran hovered in the sky, wings unfurled, his violet pupils scanning the scene. Across from him stood the legendary Vongola Family.

And for a flicker of a second—just a heartbeat—he thought he saw Tsuna, the Tenth Boss of Vongola.

"You Vongola types are always so similar," Byakuran cooed, narrowing his eyes with manic delight. "That's what makes this all the more exhilarating."

Suddenly, his wings unfurled to their full breadth—massive, shimmering constructs of white flame.

Reality twisted.

The entire expanse of Hell's Kitchen contorted. Buildings shimmered, bent, and broke the laws of physics as multiple structures from other timelines began bleeding into the sky.

The First Vongola frowned deeply as the urban skyline shattered around them.

"This is the power of the Mare Ring," he muttered. He could feel it now—twelve parallel worlds collapsing in, their energies pouring into one space.

Structures on both sides of the street warped like putty in invisible hands. Bricks and mortar cracked and reformed into planetary rings, spinning in the air like mockeries of Saturn's halos.

"The Sky Flames bore me to tears," Byakuran drawled, flicking a finger casually.

A burst of compressed white flame launched from his fingertip, roaring forward like a living beast. It tore through the air, burning the atmosphere itself. Everything in its path charred black—ash, steel, and ozone.

"Why cling to ancient codes when we can rewrite the rules ourselves?"

The First dodged, shifting sideways in a blaze of golden motion.

He clenched his right fist. The shattered remnants of a nearby building—just struck by the flame—glowed suddenly with golden light, as though touched by divine intervention.

From the void, a thousand burning chains erupted, weaving through the air like celestial serpents. They bound the collapsing buildings together, preventing further devastation and anchoring the area against collapse.

But the people of Hell's Kitchen were already in chaos.

Screams echoed from rooftops. Gravity fractured. Residents plummeted from fifth-floor balconies, their limbs flailing helplessly in the spiraling void.

Just as they were about to slam into the ground, arcs of orange-gold flame surged upward—catching them like a benevolent hand—and gently returned them to safety.

Still, Byakuran's assault continued without pause.

White flames rained down, incinerating everything indiscriminately—civilians, buildings, Vongola Guardians. The First dodged blast after blast, racing through the wreckage to save any life he could reach.

His cloak had long since been scorched away. His body was covered in open wounds. But his eyes remained clear, fierce, and unbroken.

"I'm disappointed, Vongola," Byakuran's voice sang across the night sky, sickly sweet. "Look at you… scrambling to protect. This farce of yours is exhausting to watch."

Suddenly, every neon sign in the district lit up at once, casting a rainbow of light over the carnage.

They didn't show advertisements.

They showed visions—recordings of massacres from alternate timelines. Each one orchestrated by Byakuran.

Screams echoed from parallel Hell's Kitchens.

Tsunayoshi's broken gloves floated in a quantum vortex.

The Tenth Vongola Guardians—slaughtered.

Blue Sapphire's shattered shield.

All of it broadcast in surreal horror.

And yet, Vongola I did not waver. He simply kept saving whoever he could.

Then—an ambush.

A concentrated wave of white flame surged directly toward him. Fast, precise. Tracking.

He turned—but too slow.

At the last possible moment, a kaleidoscope of brilliant flames streaked across the sky, converging before him like meteors crashing through atmosphere. The flames twisted into a radiant net of energy—interlocking, unbreakable.

The blast was stopped cold.

They had arrived.

The other Vongola Guardians had joined the fight.

G landed like black lightning, stepping behind the First in an instant. His breath was ragged, eyes fierce.

"Boss—are you alright?" he asked, voice taut with concern.

Before the First could reply, Arnold, Knacker, Asari Ugetsu, Lampo, and Daemon Spade descended one after another, each falling into formation. Their movements were automatic, instinctive.

A circle. A wall. A shield.

The First stood tall again, golden chains shimmering behind him. His enemies burned with white fire, but his allies burned brighter still—with the undying flame of resolve.
