Alex Ray was a little surprised when the system prompt appeared. He hadn't expected to be just one step away from a full upgrade.
He was genuinely curious about what surprises this system upgrade might bring. Technically, the system had only been upgraded twice before—once when the lottery function was unlocked, and again when the home base system had been enhanced thanks to the Space Stone.
Every upgrade had significantly boosted his power or capabilities. Naturally, Alex was intrigued about what this next evolution might bring.
But for now, there was something more pressing: the system had recharged its ten-draw lottery.
Before heading off to rescue Thor, Alex decided to spin the wheel. After all, there was a chance he'd run into Kadoya Tsukasa.
"I want to redeem family points through the system."
"There are currently eleven family members who have ordered. Should we initiate the lottery?"
This time, Alex decided to switch things up. He'd always conducted his draws in his room, but today, he chose to hold the lottery at the academy, hoping the surrounding students might bring him better luck.
"Give me ten consecutive draws," Alex said silently in his mind, closing his eyes.

[Item Descriptions Appeared in His Mind]:
Senzu Beans: Originating from the Dragon Ball universe, grown by the immortal Karin on Karin Tower. A single bean can rapidly heal all injuries. With these, even Saiyans would think twice before challenging you.
Enhanced Saiki K. Hairpin: From The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Wearing it suppresses all superpowers, rendering the wearer indistinguishable from an ordinary human—regardless of what powers lie dormant inside.
Legend Driver: From the Kamen Rider universe. A belt forged as a tribute to Kadoya Tsukasa. It allows the user to hijack the abilities of other Riders. With it, Alex can transform into Kamen Rider Legend.
Legend Sublimator: Also from the Kamen Rider universe. Grants access to every final Rider form. Enables transformations into Purple Lantern Decade, Ancestor Zi-O, and the ultimate: Legend Reijudo.
Legend Card Collection: Complete set of transformation cards from Kamen Rider. Used in conjunction with the Legend Driver to assume any Rider form. Go forth, young Rider, and make Tsukasa feel the pain of having his identity hacked in front of him.
Black Magic Collection: From Jackie Chan Adventures. Grants mastery over ancient and modern demonic magic. Includes command over the Shadow Corps. Don't have a fantasy beast like Palu? No worries—the Shadow Corps can mimic it perfectly.
As the system prompt echoed through his mind, a rush of knowledge flooded Alex's brain, and a surge of dark energy coursed through his body.
He had become a legendary black magician.
"There's something seriously off about you," Magneto—Erik Lehnsherr—remarked, narrowing his eyes as he sensed the sudden dark aura emanating from Alex.
"I'm fine," Alex replied, the faint gleam of dark light flickering in his eyes. "Actually, I've never felt better."
He was thrilled by the draw's outcome. It had been a massive win. Even Saiki K.'s hairpin turned out to be more useful than he expected.
There were plenty of people at the academy struggling with their abilities. Ben Grimm, for instance—the Thing—hated his own monstrous appearance. Alex could sympathize. It wasn't just about aesthetics; it deeply affected everyday life.
And Hell's Kitchen had no shortage of mutants and enhanced individuals whose powers isolated them. People like Jean Grey or Bruce Banner—those whose bodies housed dangerously uncontrollable forces.
But with this hairpin, they could live like normal people again. And in times of danger, they'd only need to take it off.
The only drawback was the design—it looked like a giant antenna—and there was only one of them.
Still, Alex was confident that if he handed it to Bruce and Tony, they could reverse-engineer it and mass-produce it.
But the biggest surprise by far was the Legend Driver.
With it, he could now transform into Kamen Rider Legend—Reijudo.
Back before his multiverse jump, Kamen Rider Legend had only made a single appearance. Alex didn't know much about him, just that he seemed to ride the popularity coattails of Kadoya Tsukasa.
His main impression? Flashy.
The whole suit was bright gold, the leather seemed lifted straight from Decade, and the background effects were clearly borrowed from Zi-O.
Still, Alex had to admit—this Rider was built different. Not only could he transform into any Rider just like Decade, he also possessed Final Ride powers, which let him summon Riders to assist in battle.
Now, with the Legend Sublimator in hand, Alex could access the ultimate forms of every Rider, including the final form of Legend Reijudo himself.
If Sukou Zi-O was considered the "ancestor form" that housed the twenty primary Heisei Riders, then Legend Reijudo was the "shrine form" that encapsulated all Riders.
In fandom circles, this setup was called the Toei Funeral Three-Piece Set:
Sukou Zi-O: Tombstone Form
Decade K21: Spiritual Card Form
Legend Reijudo: Wreath Form
Put simply, anything Decade could do, Legend Reijudo could do better—and then some.
Now that Alex had this Driver, every other transformation item felt... obsolete.
"Sorry, Eternal," Alex murmured internally. "It's not that I don't like you—but Reijudo's just too damn good."
He couldn't wait to cross paths with Kadoya Tsukasa again—just so he could transform right in front of him using the Legend Driver.
He was going to steal his thunder—literally hijack his identity in the flashiest way possible.
Then there was the Black Magic Collection. Alex didn't expect to use it often, but the Shadow Corps would come in handy for taking down waves of grunts with ease.
Just then, the Vulture—Professor Adrian Toomes—returned from his aerial patrol, landing nearby and bowing slightly in gratitude.
"Thank you, Mr. Ray. You helped me realize my dream. My purpose now is to protect everything in Hell's Kitchen—and everything the Lord of Hell holds dear."
"No need to be so formal," Alex replied. He handed the enhanced hairpin to Toomes. "Give this to Dr. Banner and the others. Tell them that with it, they can live normal lives again."
Then, turning to leave, Alex added, "I'll be heading out now. Time to rescue your friends—and Thor."
