Chapter 125 – The Burning Alliance
Outside, the battle only grew fiercer. Kenya and Eliz had already cut down dozens of Arcane beasts, but the swarm felt endless. Each time one fell, another three appeared from the forests of flame and shadow.
Kenya stood in the middle of a blazing crater, his Fire Demon Form 2 burning hotter than a volcano. His eyes glowed crimson as his arms crackled with molten sparks.
Kenya: "Tch… they just keep coming. Looks like the Arcane King doesn't want us moving an inch."
Eliz was at his side, her hands glowing with black runes. She unleashed another Death Cyclone Spell, a spiral of shadow winds shredding the beasts into ash. But the spell drained her stamina quickly. She staggered.
Eliz (panting): "I can't… keep this up forever. Where is Shen? We need him now!"
Suddenly, the ground split open. A massive Arcane General—a towering monster with horns of obsidian and a body like a burning cathedral—emerged. Its roar shook the battlefield.
Kenya's flames flared higher.
Kenya: "So… one of the sealed generals finally crawled out, huh? Heh. I was waiting for a challenge."
But Eliz grabbed his arm, her eyes sharp.
Eliz: "Don't be reckless, Kenya! Even you can't take it alone. We need to fight together!"
Kenya hesitated. For the first time, he looked at her with a softer expression.
Kenya (serious): "Fine. But stay close. You and I—if we mess up even once, we're both dead."
The two launched forward in perfect sync. Kenya unleashed Inferno Dragon Strike, a flame in the shape of a dragon, while Eliz chanted her ultimate spell, Oblivion Cyclone. Fire and shadow fused together, colliding with the Arcane General.
The monster roared, staggered—but did not fall.
In the distance, the other Drifters stared in awe.
Drifter Soldier: "That power… those two, they're fighting like demons themselves…"
The chapter ends with Kenya and Eliz side by side, battered but unyielding, facing the towering general—while somewhere deep inside the seal, Shen continues his training with Lare, unaware of how desperately his friends need him.
