Chapter 124 – THE FIRE DEMON'S SURGE
The battlefield roared with chaos. Flames and cyclones tore the night sky apart as Kenya and Eliz clashed against General Draviel and his serpent.
Kenya's fists burned red-hot, every strike shaking the air. But Draviel blocked each blow with ease, his black spear weaving through the flames like a serpent itself. Sparks and fire rained down, scorching the earth.
"Pathetic," Draviel sneered. "You carry the fire of demons, yet it flickers like a candle."
Kenya's jaw clenched. Blood ran down his cheek, his arms bruised from the endless clash. Damn it… he's not even serious yet!
The serpent lunged at Eliz, fangs dripping venom. Her eyes glowed black as she summoned her Death Cyclone Magic again, unleashing a storm of shadowed winds. The serpent recoiled as its scales split open, but it roared and struck harder, its tail sweeping her into the dirt.
"Eliz!" Kenya shouted, his aura flaring violently. Rage boiled in his chest, his fire trembling with a deeper heat.
Eliz coughed, forcing herself to rise. "Don't… worry about me. Fight, Kenya! Push yourself—you're stronger than this!"
Her words lit the fuse.
Kenya roared, his aura exploding outward. Flames turned darker, burning crimson with streaks of molten gold. The ground beneath him melted, and even Draviel raised an eyebrow.
"…Oh?" the General muttered, eyes narrowing. "Now that is interesting."
Kenya's body pulsed with new fire, his outline jagged like a demon's shadow. His voice growled, deeper, fiercer. "I won't let Shen be the only one to carry this fight… I'll rise too!"
The serpent lunged again, but Kenya's fist met its skull—this time, the creature was blown back, its head crashing into the cliffs. The explosion of fire scorched the night, brighter than any before.
Draviel smirked, twirling his spear. "So the cub shows his fangs… This must be the stirrings of your Fire Demon Evolution. But tell me—can you control it?"
Kenya staggered, his flames lashing wildly. His veins burned, his body threatening to collapse under the new power. Eliz reached his side, steadying him with her magic.
"Kenya—don't let it consume you. Focus it. Control it."
Kenya's eyes, glowing red-gold, locked on Draviel. He bared his teeth. "Control it…? No. I'll master it—right now!"
With a roar, he charged again, his fist blazing like a miniature sun, aiming to finally break the General's defense.
The clash of fire and spear shook the battlefield, a storm of sparks raining down—
and far away, in the white castle, Shen suddenly felt a strange tug in his chest, as if the flames of his brother-in-arms were calling to him.
