"Are you sure you want to stay here at the villa?" Raymond asked gently, watching his daughter with concern etched across his face. After Adam left, he had decided to take Sofia away from the mansion—to let her breathe, to give her some time alone. And his daughter loved it.
Sofia nodded, her eyes fixed on the horizon beyond the terrace. The sea breeze tousled her hair, and for a moment, she looked both fragile and fiercely determined.
"Yes," she said quietly. "I just… I need to clear my head. Try to breathe again. I know I can't run away from what happened—not from the church, not from Adam, not from the pain. But here, even just for a while, maybe I can find some peace. Maybe I can start to figure out how to move forward."
She turned to him, a soft, wistful smile tugging at her lips. "And despite everything, I'm happy, Dad. I really am. I'm going to be a mom. And that excites me more than anything in the world."
