What the heck happened? Why does my shoulder hurt like hell.
Ezra shifted her body and felt a sharp pain on her right shoulder. She let go of her axe and grabbed her right.
Warm and wet. Ezra turned to look and saw her arm bleeding out, like oil gushing out of an oil rig.
She quickly took a look at her shoulder. Bits and pieces of bone sticking out of it.
"What the hell is up with his strength?" Ezra asked in a shake voice.
She tried getting up but quickly dropped back down. She couldn't stand. Her legs were quivering.
She glanced up and saw Yama slowly approaching from afar, though barely as her vision began to fade.
Yama's became more and more blurred with each second.
Wait I can't pass out yet....
Ezra slowly lifted her hand as if reaching out to Yama. The world around her spun as she sway from side to side, barely clinging onto consciousness.
Wait not... ye....
Thud! She collapsed onto the ground.
**********
Ezra opened her eyes. She glanced around at the cold, dark concrete walls around her. She felt a liquid substance dripping from her noise.
She reached her hand and grabbed her nose. When she glanced at her hand, it was void black. She was bleeding.
Where am I? Wait! I think I know this place.
"leave her alone you pieces of shit! " A voice yelled out from behind her.
She turned to see a group of seven boys had surrounded her and another boy. Their tattered close felt familiar to her.
"This is over man. Next time we'll make sure she's dead," One of the boys said as he gestured to the others.
They all left, leaving her and the boy that stood up for her all alone. The boy turned to face Ezra and she froze.
"Are you okay?" the boy asked extending his hand to her.
Ezra carefully placed her hand in his.
"My name's Marrow. What's yours?" the boy asked enthusiastically.
Ezra still frozen and wide eyed managed to speak, "Ezra."
"Ezra, that's a beautiful name. From today onwards I'll protect you, so you don't have to leave in fear anymore," the boy said as he shot he a hopeful smile.
**********
Marrow.... I'm sorry for failing you.
'Is that really all you have to say after he sacrificed so much for you! Pathetic!'
Ezra immediately shot up and stood slouched over. Her right arm limped from her body while the other clung desperately to the axe.
"I haven't quit yet. I will not quit until we are finally freed from your grasp," Ezra said in a steady voice.
Yama stood a few meters away.
"Who are talking to? I'd really like to chip in your conversation," Yama said as he stopped.
Ezra remained silent as golden energy began leaking from her body once more.
Ezra tossed the axe away and grabbed her right arm and tore it clean off from the shoulder. She didn't flinch nor scream as Yama stared in disbelief.
From her right shoulder, three arms sprouted out. From her left two sprouted out. Her head began to spin rapidly.
The crunch of breaking bone akin to a snapping dry branch echoed through open planes as the sound shot through the quiet more and more.
After a minute the sound stopped. The color from Yama's face drained as he stared at the two heads that sprouted from Ezra's neck.
Without warning a beam of golden light descended from the sky and shot down at Ezra.
Before Yama could process it, a giant hand holding a large axe sprung out of the beam. Then one with a sword, another with a mace, another with a spear, then whip and lastly a dagger.
The beam cleared away all the smoke in the area is it disappeared, revealing a huge slender three faced, six armed and six winged bone thin angel with a large golden halo behind her head.
Each weapon in each hand stood ready.
"I will win back our freedom. Failure is not an option," it spoke with an otherworldly voice. Calm, slow and authoritative.
