The mermaid queen dropped her guard down. Shin and Bael then put their plan in motion.
They continued to clash again and again. The queen's joy grew with every slash. In the years that she has lived it was the first she met any other being that could potentially stand up to her.
Come on, come on , COME ON!!! Show me more of what you are capable of. Entertain me landwellers. ENTERTAIN ME!!!
The mermaid queen stood up as the other mermaids cheered at Shin and Bael. She intentionally dropped her trident and got closer to the edge of the arena.
She was drunk on joy, completely unaware of her surroundings.
Just a little bit more until we can strike.
Shin dodged and blocked Bael's attacks. A few moments passed by and Bael's attacks became increasingly faster and faster, Shin could not keep up anymore.
What the hell Bael?
Bael's attacks started to cut Shin up, but thanks to Satel his knew body was healing his wounds just seconds after they opened.
Shin stared into the bloodlusted eyes of Bael. He saw cold determination in his eyes.
"Bael what the hell?" Shin asked wincing at every cut.
Bael was unfazed by the Shin's moans of pain.
Just kill him now. No one will know. If the mermaid speaks. Kill her before she can, you can avenge your father here and now and then become the demon king. Kill him and go take the title that rightfully belongs to you.
Bael was focused on pressing Shin. His attacks got faster and faster till it became a one-sided exchange.
Bael aimed his last attack for Shin's throat.
One quick strike. Then kill the queen. No one will know then.
As he was about to strike the image of his father appeared in his mind. He intentionally missed the strike.
"What!?" The queen was shocked by Bael's sudden hesitation.
She slumped down in disappointment. Just as she was about to sit down on the throne, a gust of air hit her.
Though it did not push her back, it caused her scales to dry up. Shin took note of that as Bael swung at the queen.
"Phantom sword: form 1: vanishing slash," an invisible slash cut through the queen.
The slash did not faze her as she looked at it and scoffed. When she looked back at the arena the water rushed at her and pushed her back.
Her instincts made her look up. There she saw Shin and Bael escaping using Shin's wind magic to propel them and act like thrusters.
She clicked her tongue in rage and caught her descending trident.
"After them!!!" The queen commanded.
All the ten thousand mermaids in the arena rushed towards the pair.
"Shin buddy. I'm going to need you to speed up the ride, I can't exactly fight well underwater," Bael said as he pointed his hand at the mermaids.
Just as Bael was about to cast a spell, the mermaid queen appeared right above Shin and Bael.
When Shin saw this he immediately stopped. The mermaid queen smiled.
"Not bad. You managed to leave a lasting wound on me," the queen gestured the to now healed but still visible scar on her body.
She pointed her trident at the two. The mermaids surrounded the two.
"I must thank you. You two have filled me with joy for battle, and after watching your battle I have decided to find more worthy opponents up on the surface," the mermaid queen smiled.
"Any last words before you die landwellers?" She asked grinning wildly.
Bael smiled," sure I have one thing."
"Dark magic: tier 5:Shadow beasts:fish," a black small fish emerged from Bael's feet.
It swam up and faced the mermaid queen. Bael grinned from ear to ear.
