"Hey mama can you please take the girls for a few months" said Lil Papi's mother Felicia to her mother Ms. Ruth on the phone. "Right now is really tight and I can't do this on my own ma," his mother said as she sat down on the twin size bed in the small ran down hotel. Lil Papi over hears the conversation his mother is having with his grandmother and Ms. Ruth says "child of course they can stay as long as you need it." Lil Papi sees his mother face light up with joy as she hangs up the phone with his grandmother. His mother walks over to him, "Hey baby you ready to eat?" "Yes ma'am" says Lil Papi and his mother goes to the small fridge and pulls out a ham sandwich wrapped inside a paper towel she packed for her lunch and some chips. "Thank you mama" said lil papi as he precede to eat his mother's lunch for her shift not knowing it was all she had for the night. "You're welcome baby boy" said Felicia "now hurry up so you can get ready for bed." Yes ma'am Lil Papi said ecstatically then started scarfing down the sandwich his mother gave him and got ready for bed. As Lil papi slept his mother kissed him on his forehead and went to work.
The next morning…." Is it daylight, still dark out???" said Lil Papi
Yawning… Lil Papi wakes with his mom no where in sight so he is in a panic!!! Mama says lil papi…. Mama!!! Lil papi doesn't hear or see his mom and starts to cry. Feeling abandoned 30 mins pass by and Lil Papi hears the door handle and keys rattle….
It's his mom Felicia!!!! and Lil Papi's face lights up because his mother never had done that before. Mama!!! said Lil Papi, he hugged his mother so tight. Boy!!! What's wrong you look like you've been crying wipe those tears. Behind his mother was this strange man he never seen before. Mama who is that?… Lil Papi pointed at the man, "oh this is Terrance" his mom said, he will come with us to this year's fair so put on some clothes his mother said. Lil Papi was so confused because that man was unfamiliar yet not threatening to him so he went and did as his mother asked of him.
Later that night was time for the fair….
Hey mama can I have some Cotten candy? said Lil Papi no son we can't, and before she can even finish saying no to Lil Papi the strange man Terrance said yea lil man I'll get you some Cotten candy. Lil Papi was so happy and forgot it was his first time meeting this man and said thank you Mr. Terrance….. this night was one of the best nights of my life said Lil Papi as the night faded a way Lil Papi wasn't tall enough for any rides but did get a lot of goodies as well as a gold fish he named Goldie.
Few months later….
Ringing!!!! Ring…. ring…ring-ring…. Ring… ring
Hello… Lil Papi's mom answers the phone, hey ma she says… yes….ummm…hmmm… everything's going good ma I get the apartment signed off today…. Yes ma'am I'll be by soon as I can to pick the girls up…Lil Papi mom hangs the phone up.
