Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 Granny

After my first year of school I managed to get enough good grades to make it to the next grade, fortunately summer time is always fun because I get to go to granny house which was always a treat, Lil Papi thinks to himself with excitement. My granny and auntie on my dad side was always good to me and my sister Stacey. Nancy spent most of her summers with my grandma Ruth, we had different dads so we spent our weekends and summers separate most times. My granny and auntie always made me my cousins and Stacey go to church every single sunday come rain or shine and I always remembered falling asleep every service, Lil Papi reminisce to himself and granny would always pop me up side the head, and let me say, it hurt every-time surprised me knowing how old granny was compared to me and strong. But that was how we got introduced to god and Jesus I really didn't understand all of it but I know all the adults did they'ed be dancing and clapping singing their hearts out praising the lord and we just do what they did so we wouldn't get in trouble. The best part going to granny every weekend and summer were the times I spent with my cousins Manny, Tom, Jazzy and Carson man we always had a great time. Jazzy and Stacey were like two peas in a pod and me my other cousins loved to play video games, Lil Papi laugh out loud and wrestling. Tom was the strongest out of the boys and I feel like I was the second strongest I looked up to Tom because he was so fearless and always stood up for everyone he was the alpha of the group and I always felt safe with him. Carson had all the games as he was the only child and man was it fun every time he came to granny house with all the new games and action figures" I didn't have much of that at home but at granny's house I had all that and more". My youngest cousin was Manny he was a chubby kid and we all loved him even though we hogged all the gaming time from him. It was never a dull moment at granny's house from the whooping's with the switches,Lil Papi drifts in thought man those switch whoop-in's were the worst granny and auntie always made us go get our on switch and oh boy don't come back with a small one because then they go pick it out for you and that was the worst…. Whew that sucked. But despite all that one thing I can always count on was granny's breakfast every morning, their was nothing quite like it and I grew to love how blessed we were to be treated in such a way learning what it means to be in church, learning how close family can get and learning how to behave as a young man should.

Summer break ends and the next year begins….
