Chapter 4 - Episode 3: Oh Yea Demons.

"My name's Dip, and I like peace and stuff!"

Is around what the moron said to me, his face overfilling with the strenuous passion to be an idiot, the kind of passion one only comes across in their lifetime three to four times, the sort of determination you could burn to a crisp before it laughed as ashes.

In short, an immortal annoyance and naturally with my luck one that's bound to be fireproof if I even tried.

I fail to keep in a sigh of contempt as I speak to the man.

"Did you even stop to question why I'm here?—and don't you DARE ask if it's about you."

His mouth opens mid sentence before clasping shut in the second half, for the love of Solaris, save me from this man's stupidity.

"I didn't come here for you, or to merely raze your town, there's no point to any of that."

"Then why are the buildings on—"

I press lightly on his chest and he screams as if I broke his ribs or something, loser.

"It's because demons were heading towards this area, I just didn't expect to be barraged with, honestly, very pathetic hunting equipment, if you're going to use a spear at least make it shoot out like a cannon as well, a human arm could never break a single scale."

His face is one of complete staleness for a moment, before it shifts into shock mixed with excitement, a moronic smile etched itself across his face.

"Real live demons?!"

————————————————————————

Demons, demons have been a grey area in hunting for—well ever since we first interacted with them hundreds of years ago, pretty scary things, and whenever they showed up, it always meant an army was to follow, personally never struck my interest as much as dragons did, but I never stay unprepared.

Shrugging off the slight pain of cracked ribs I pull out my handy demon manual, I hadn't read it since my last birthday, my 23rd.

Demons: "Demons come in a variety of all factors, with no real consistencies besides a few key factors, demons share an insatiable lust for conquest and brutality, they have humanoid figures, and a myriad of abilities—" "— if you are to find yourself against a demon, it is ill advised to engage, with basic weaponry like bows and pikes only being viable against the weakest of demon kind."

Well, that's kind of disappointing, I only have basic weaponry.

At that moment I saw a large boulder blot out the sun, roughly 50 feet across in all aspects, as it began to hurdle towards me.

"Hey uh there's a—"

"I can sense the boulder earthblood, I'm just thinking if I care enough to save you."

Huh, my ribs are bleeding aren't they...?

... I'm gonna pass out now.
