The morning sun filtered through the trees, soft and golden. The Enchanted Forest stirred gently, as if waking with the travelers. While Elsa had departed before dawn, guided by the mysterious voice only she could truly hear, Anna, Ethan, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven remained at the Northuldra camp.

Anna stared into the firepit from the previous night, her fingers laced around a warm cup of herbal tea. She should have been relieved after reconnecting with her family's roots—but her mind was restless.

"She didn't say goodbye," Anna murmured.

Ethan glanced at her from the other side of the fire. "She couldn't. She's protecting you from whatever's out there."

Anna looked at him with soft, conflicted eyes. "She always does that. Always keeps the danger to herself."

Olaf chimed in with an insightful hum. "That's what big sisters do. But it doesn't mean they should do it alone."

Ethan stood, brushing dirt from his coat. "She won't be alone for long. But right now, we've got something else to deal with."

Kristoff joined them, eyes alert. "Yeah. That dam."

Whispers from the Past

The Northuldra elder, Yelka, had agreed to lead Anna and Ethan's group back to the dam. Though the ancient structure had stood for generations, the forest whispered around it now with unease. It wasn't just stone anymore—it was a scar.

"This dam," Yelka said as they approached, "was not a gift. It was a control. A tether placed on the forest's spirit."

Anna looked up at the enormous stone walls, her breath catching. "But our grandfather said it was built to honor the forest people."

Yelka's eyes hardened. "He lied."

Ethan stepped forward and ran his hand along a crack in the wall. The runes carved into the stone were worn, but they weren't Northuldra. They were Arendellian. Military.

"There are more carvings down here," Ethan called, motioning them to a lower ridge of the dam. Moss and vines had tried to hide them, but time hadn't erased everything. Etched in stone were worn murals—of soldiers… of a battle.

Of betrayal.

Anna stared. "Is this… the truth?"

Kristoff exhaled slowly. "Arendelle didn't come to build peace. They came to control magic."

Yelka nodded. "The dam was never meant to bring balance. It was meant to weaken the forest, restrict the spirits."

Olaf tilted his head. "So the spirits rebelled… and cursed the land?"

"No," Ethan said slowly. "They responded. The spirits didn't curse the forest. They defended it."

Beneath the Surface

Following a faint trail around the base of the dam, they discovered a collapsed cavern entrance—half-hidden behind rubble and time. Anna moved toward it, heart pounding.

"This was the old foundation," Kristoff noted. "It looks unstable."

Yelka hesitated. "It hasn't been opened since the battle."

Ethan crouched and peered into the darkness. "I'll go in first."

Anna grabbed his wrist. "No. We go in together."

With torches lit and cautious steps, they descended into the dark. Inside, echoes of the past lingered like ghosts. Crumbling support beams. Rusted tools. A shattered helmet with the Arendellian crest.

They moved deeper.

And then… they found it.

A chamber. Hidden away. With frescoes carved into the walls.

On one side, an image of the forest and the spirits—free, alive, intertwined with the people of Northuldra.

On the other side, Arendellian soldiers and builders… creating the dam, holding weapons, betraying trust.

At the center, a final image—of a girl. Hair braided, eyes wide.

Anna stepped closer. "Mother?"

It was Iduna.

A younger version of her—carved by hand into the stone.

"She was here," Anna whispered.

Olaf gasped. "She tried to stop it."

Ethan traced the carving with his fingertips. "She must have helped someone escape. Maybe even warned the spirits."

Kristoff looked around. "Why was this hidden?"

Yelka answered softly. "Because the truth threatens those who built their legacy on lies."

The Truth Hurts

They emerged from the chamber into the sunlight once more, shaken.

Anna stood silently beside the dam, her emotions storming behind her eyes.

"All this time," she said quietly. "We believed it was a symbol of peace."

"It wasn't your fault," Ethan told her. "It was your grandfather's. The lie began with him."

Anna clenched her fists. "We have to tell Elsa. We have to… fix this."

"But how?" Kristoff asked. "It's a dam. A massive one."

Yelka turned to them. "It may be massive, but it's not invincible. And if destroying it sets the forest free… the spirits will show their gratitude."

"Or their wrath," Olaf muttered, hiding behind Sven's saddle.

Anna looked to Ethan. "Would you help me do it?"

He met her eyes. "Always."

A Stir in the Air

Before they could continue the discussion, the air shifted. The wind kicked up around them—stronger, more erratic.

The trees groaned. Birds scattered.

Then they heard it—a deep, rumbling roar, not from the dam… but from within the forest.

The Earth Giant.

"No," Yelka said, eyes widening. "They're waking."

Anna turned to Ethan, her heart thudding. "We have to find Elsa. Now."
