After completing his investigation of the Dragon Vein in Roran, Miyadera had originally planned to capture Queen Seramu on the side and vent his frustrations.
However, his attempt was thwarted by a mysterious figure.
On his way back, a spy he had planted in one of the Three Great Shinobi Villages delivered an urgent report: the person who had intervened was none other than the Third Hokage of Konoha, Senju Arima.
Miyadera had originally intended to launch an aerial strike on Roran, then seize the chaos to transfer the Dragon Vein into Ancor Vantian.
But now, with the Third Hokage involved, he couldn't help but feel a growing unease. He immediately returned to the airborne fortress to consult with Shinno.
Inside the fortress, Shinno was conducting human experiments in his lab, trying to find a way to tame Zero-Tail. The chaotic, violent chakra of Zero-Tail remained a persistent obstacle.
After returning from Roran, Miyadera headed straight for Shinno's cold, shadowy laboratory.
Back when he was searching for Zero-Tail's sealed location, he had unexpectedly run into Shinno, who shared the same goal. The two joined forces and successfully unsealed Zero-Tail.
Afterward, Zero-Tail was split into two halves, each residing in one of their bodies. Together, they founded the Sky Shinobi.
Miyadera took charge of external affairs, while Shinno handled internal operations. The two were, in a sense, inseparably bound together.
Still, Miyadera had always been wary of Shinno.
While he had been responsible primarily for Zero-Tail's sealing, Shinno had taken on the bulk of the village's responsibilities, training pseudo-Jinchūriki hosts for Zero-Tail, building Ancor Vantian, and gathering intelligence across the Shinobi World.
Now, Miyadera felt that Shinno might not even need him anymore, he alone could keep Sky Shinobi running.
That thought kept Miyadera constantly on edge. If not for the shared vision ability of the Jinchuriki hosts, he suspected Shinno would've long since disposed of him in secret.
When Miyadera entered the lab, Shinno paused briefly with his scalpel. A moment later, he resumed the experiment, not even glancing at him.
He had already seen everything that had happened in Roran through their shared vision.
Upon first laying eyes on the Third Hokage, even Shinno couldn't help the chill that ran down his spine.
Senju Arima held immense authority in the Shinobi World, an immovable mountain.
Even after traveling back in time and becoming Zero-Tail's Jinchūriki, Shinno remained cautious to an extreme, leaving no opportunity for Arima to trace him.
Shinno's constant paranoia had long been a source of irritation for Miyadera.
He recalled how Shinno constantly warned him not to stir up trouble.
And now, after barely suffering a minor setback at the hands of the Third Hokage, he came back to this cold shoulder. Rage surged inside him.
With a dark tone, Miyadera spoke. "So you've decided to start ignoring me now, Shinno?"
Shinno calmly set down his scalpel and looked up at Miyadera.
Through his mask, he replied coldly, "You have no idea how terrifying the Third Hokage truly is. One mistake, and everything we've worked for could be reduced to ash."
He slowly removed his gloves and mask, his eyes gleaming with icy intensity as the murderous intent within him deepened.
Miyadera's exposure in front of Senju Arima might've revealed the location of their fortress.
Shinno realized he needed to eliminate him immediately and dispose of anything Miyadera had brought back, otherwise, the Flying Thunder God technique could lead Arima straight to them.
Over the years, Shinno had conducted thousands of experiments on merging Zero-Tail's chakra with human hosts.
He had reached a point where he could fully integrate Zero-Tail's chakra into his body while retaining conscious control.
He had long since surpassed Miyadera, that arrogant half-baked Jinchūriki.
Sensing the killing intent, Miyadera, who also housed half of Zero-Tail's chakra, instinctively realized what was coming. He had been pushed to the edge, he had no choice but to fight back.
His chakra exploded outward, his eyes turning pitch black, and a thick, black chakra began oozing from his pores. He gradually lost all reason, transforming into a berserk, furious beast.
Seeing this, Shinno couldn't help but feel a twisted satisfaction.
It was precisely because he feared turning into this kind of monster that he had tolerated Miyadera's arrogance for all these years, silently toiling away in his lab.
Back when they encountered the Third Kazekage, in the desert, if not for Shinno stepping in, that reckless fool Miyadera would've been shredded by Magnet Release.
Even during the assault on the Uzumaki Clan, if Shinno hadn't drawn attention away with a diversion, Miyadera would've been sealed for good with the Reaper Death Seal.
Aside from the legacy of the Uzumaki Clan, Miyadera was nothing but a foolish brute!
After becoming Zero-Tail's Jinchūriki, Miyadera's lust, arrogance, rage, and jealousy were all amplified, perfect fodder for Zero-Tail's growth.
That's why Shinno had endured him all these years.
He had always remained in the shadows. No one but Miyadera even knew he existed. Cloaked in a black robe, he gave off the same aura as Miyadera. Replacing him would be effortless.
Shinno was just waiting for the perfect method to fully merge with Zero-Tail.
Once he reclaimed Miyadera's half, he would become the ideal host.
With the tailed beast chakra cannon aboard Ancor Vantian, he could force the entire Shinobi World to kneel, including Senju Arima.
Reclaiming Zero-Tail now would be a bit rushed, but still feasible. The sealed Moryo, however, would have to wait.
Once Shinno became the true Zero-Tail Jinchūriki, he would begin assimilating Moryo's dark chakra, then secretly absorb the Dragon Vein's power.
After that, who in the Shinobi World could stop him?
Behind Miyadera, five pitch-black chakra chains burst out, lunging toward Shinno.
Recognizing it as the Uzumaki Clan's Adamantine Sealing Chains, an elite technique both offensive and defensive, Shinno realized Miyadera was trying to seal him.
He activated a forbidden medical ninjutsu: Body Activation Technique, enhancing his physical attributes and effortlessly dodging the attack.
A hint of regret crossed his mind, his Flesh Regeneration Technique was still unfinished and couldn't unlock the Eighth Gate. If it could, Miyadera wouldn't last a second.
Seeing that Miyadera hadn't completely lost his mind, Shinno thought, Looks like this idiot hasn't been entirely wasting his time. He's come up with some way to manage Zero-Tail's chakra.
Earlier, Miyadera had used the Sand Technique stolen from Sunagakure to seal parts of his own memory.
Now, lifting that seal flooded him with recollections, and his mind quickly regained clarity.
He pulled out a scroll and began performing a complex series of seals. His rage subsided, and his composure returned.
Watching this version of Miyadera, Shinno frowned slightly.
What puzzled him was that he had studied the Brain-Subduing Sand Technique before; it couldn't possibly mitigate the madness induced by Zero-Tail chakra.
That was why he'd allowed Miyadera to use it on himself. But now… Miyadera clearly had some secrets.
Seeing the confusion on Shinno's face, Miyadera let out a cold chuckle.
"Even our great doctor doesn't have all the answers? You speak so confidently about the state of the world, always acting like you've got it all figured out."
Shinno asked cautiously, "How did you do it?"
Miyadera wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth, stood, straightened his tattered robes, and calmly met Shinno's gaze.
"You're just a barefoot country doctor. What would you know of the Uzumaki Clan's depth?
You've spent all these years laughing at me in secret, haven't you? Already sentenced me to death in your heart?"
Shinno's expression darkened further. He probed, "Have you always had a way to control Zero-Tail?"
Miyadera nodded faintly, pacing slowly across the vast lab.
After a pause, he said, "Long ago, our Uzumaki ancestors discovered, while studying the Reaper Death Seal, that certain individuals could split their psyche into multiple personalities under a single soul."
He stepped closer, continuing, "Later, when the Yamanaka Clan developed the Mind Transfer Jutsu, they noticed that it triggered dissociative identity disorders in some of their members.
So our two clans worked together to develop a sealing technique that could temporarily seal off individual personalities."
Shinno's voice trembled. "You… sealed your original personality?"
Standing just a step away, Miyadera looked him dead in the eyes.
"Of course. I have more than one personality inside me. Zero-Tail can only corrupt one at a time. Most considered this technique useless, but for me, it's perfect."
Just as Shinno opened his mouth to speak, he felt a sharp, searing pain in his abdomen.
Looking down, he saw a chakra chain piercing through him. His own chakra was completely sealed, he was utterly powerless.
As Shinno's consciousness faded, Miyadera looked down at him and murmured, "The fusion method you developed… it's actually more refined. Thank you, Dr. Shinno."
