Chapter 12 - True Alpha ascension I

As I walked to school, the weight of the upcoming full moon hung over me. It was the day of my trial, I couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty. I pulled out my phone and sent a text to Ava, trying to distract myself from the anxiety.

"Hey, how's your day going?" I typed, hoping she'd respond soon.

I smiled as I read Ava's response. "I'm doing okay, just getting through the day. Miss you too," I typed back, feeling a sense of comfort knowing she was thinking of me.

As I walked into my next class, my phone buzzed again. Ava had sent a string of heart emojis and a messages "Can't wait to see you tonight ."

My heart skipped a beat as I thought about the trial and what lay ahead. I hoped I could make it through the night without anything going wrong.

I typed out a response, trying to be cautious about what I shared. "Hey, something unexpected came up. Might not be able to make it tonight as planned. Will keep you updated, okay?"

I hesitated for a moment before hitting send, knowing that my trial could potentially put Ava in danger if things went wrong. I hoped she would understand as i slipped my phone back into my pocket

As I stashed my books in my locker, I felt a sense of focus wash over me. Being team captain was a big responsibility, and I was determined to lead my team to victory.

I headed to the boy's locker room, the sound of chatter and laughter filling the air. My teammates were already getting changed, their faces set with determination.

"Alright, guys," I said, grabbing my gear. "Let's get ready to give it our all out there. We've got this!"

My teammates nodded, we geared up for the training, ready to put in the work and come out on top.

The new guy was impressing me with his skills on the field. He was quick on his feet, had great ball control and was making some fantastic plays. I had to admit, the coach had been right about him , he was really good.

As team captain, I made a mental note to keep an eye on him and make sure he was integrating well with the rest of the team. With his skills, we could go far in the championships.

"Hey, nice play!" I called out to him as he made a particularly impressive tackle. He grinned, and I could see the spark of competitiveness in his eyes. This guy was going to push us all to be our best...

Matt's Pov,

I checked the time, realizing I had to head out soon for the trial at Oakwood. The full moon was approaching, I could feel its pull. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. Today's transformation shouldn't be that hard, I told myself. I'd been through this before, after all.

But as I thought about the trial and what was at stake, my anxiety spiked. What if I didn't pass?

I pushed aside my doubts and focused on the task at hand. I had to get to Oakwood, face the trial and prove myself. I stood up, feeling the moon's energy coursing through my veins. It was time to get ready.

I recalled my conversation with Alex, and his words stuck with me. "Facing the trial to be with Ava shows how strong your bond is with her," he'd said. "If it's worth it, it's a go."

I thought about Ava and how much she meant to me. The trial was more than just a test of my worthiness; it was a chance to prove my love for her. I was willing to face whatever challenges lay ahead if it meant being with her.

With renewed determination, I steeled myself for what was to come. Bring it on, I thought, ready to face the trial and claim Ava as mine.

Viktor's Pov,

I sat down at my desk, pen in hand and i began to write a letter to my son. Tears streamed down my face as I poured out my heart, explaining why I had to leave and the dangers that lurked in the shadows. I told him about the supernatural world, about the creatures that threatened our kind and about my quest for revenge.

As I wrote, my emotions poured onto the page. I knew the risks I was taking and the possibility of not returning was high. But I had to do this, for my son's future, for our safety.

With shaking hands, I finished the letter, my final words echoing in my mind. "Goodbye, my son. Make me proud." I folded the letter, sealed it and left it on the table, hoping that one day he would understand why I had to do this.

As I stepped out to meet Riven and the others, I could see the anticipation in their eyes. We were all geared up, literally, with our equipment stacked into the car. We exchanged nods and without a word, we knew what we were about to embark on.

The drive was a blur, the tension palpable as we geared up for what was to come. Our mission was clear: hunt down any supernatural beings that we encounter. I was ready to unleash my wrath,Riven and the others were by my side.

The road unwound before us, leading us deeper into the night and into the heart of our quest for vengeance.

I stepped out of my house, the cool evening air a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside me. I was headed to Oakwood, to face the trial that would determine my fate. As I hailed a cab, I couldn't shake off the doubts about my ability to shift.

Sitting in the backseat, I gazed out the window at the serene landscape passing by. My mind wandered to Ava, and I felt a surge of determination. No matter what lay ahead, I had to make it through this trial. For her, for us, I would push past my limits and prove myself.

The cab ride was a moment of quiet contemplation, a chance to steel myself for what was to come. I took a deep breath, feeling the moon's pull growing stronger by the minute. It was time to face my fate..

Caleb's Pov,

We gathered at Oakwood, the moon casting an eerie glow over the trees. The pack's eyes were fixed on the path leading to the trial grounds, where my brother would soon face his test. I, Caleb, stood among them, my gaze intent on the proceedings.

Would Matt emerge victorious, or would he succumb to the trial's challenges? The pack's murmurs and whispers filled the air as we awaited the outcome. Some believed Matt had what it took to pass; others were less convinced.

As the pack's leader, I had to remain impartial, but a part of me hoped Matt would prove himself worthy. The trial would reveal his true strength, and only time would tell if he would make it out alive.

Zephyr's Pov,

Luna's voice was barely above a whisper as she spoke to me, Zephyr. "His defiance could be his downfall and if he fails, it could destabilize the pack."

I nodded in agreement. "The pack's traditions are in place for a reason. If Matt's actions are seen as a challenge to the pack's authority, it could lead to chaos."

Luna's eyes were filled with concern. "We have to hope he understands the gravity of his situation and proves himself worthy. Otherwise, the consequences could be dire, not just for Matt, but for the entire pack."

The weight of Matt's actions hung in the balance, and only time would tell if he would emerge victorious or succumb to the trial's challenges....

Matt's Pov,

As I stepped out of the cab, the moonlight cast an eerie glow over the landscape. I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the trial ahead. The pack was gathered, their faces illuminated by the soft light of the moon.

I walked towards the trial grounds, my heart pounding in my chest. The pack parted, forming a semi-circle around me. Caleb's eyes met mine, his expression unreadable.

The air was thick with anticipation, the pack's energy palpable. I could feel their scrutiny, their doubts. But I stood tall, my determination burning brighter than any fear. I was ready to face whatever lay ahead, to prove myself to the pack and to Ava. The trial was about to begin.....

As the full moon reached its peak, the pack's transformation began, their bodies contorting in a mix of pain and agony. I stood firm, unaffected by the lunar pull. The pack's primal instincts took over, their eyes glowing with a feral light.

But I remained unchanged, my mind clear and my thoughts rational. I realized that my ability to resist the full moon's control might be due to the Lunar Binding skill I had learned. It allowed me to maintain control over my instincts, even under the intense influence of the moon.

The pack watched in awe, their transformed bodies frozen in surprise. They seemed to be wondering how I could resist the moon's power. I stood tall, my self-control and clarity of thought a testament to my unique ability. The pack's gazes were filled with a mix of curiosity and respect, and I knew that this moment would change the dynamics between us forever.

I stood among the pack, still in my human form, and a sense of clarity washed over me. It all made sense now - the struggles to shift, the resistance to the full moon's pull. I had been fighting against my true nature, but not in the way I thought.

My ability to resist transformation was a unique gift, one that set me apart from the rest of the pack. I felt a mix of emotions: wonder, curiosity and a hint of trepidation. What did this mean for my trial? Would I be able to complete it, or would my differences be seen as a weakness?

I steeled myself, ready to face whatever lay ahead. The pack's eyes were on me, their expressions a mix of intrigue and expectation. I took a deep breath, prepared to prove myself and show them what I was capable of. The trial was about to begin, and I was ready to face it head-on.
