"Who is the new soldier? You never sent his information to me," General Conan's voice rang out in the quiet office.
Ren froze, dread sinking in his chest as he stood behind Kael, his hands trembling slightly.
He thought he was out of sight, how did the general manage to see him?
He had sharp eyes, just like his son.
"Bring him to me, Captain. Every soldier must be accurately evaluated by the system. We can't afford to harbour an imbalance," General Conan stated, his silver eyes searching for Ren.
Ren gulped, slowly stepping out from behind Kael.
"Take everyone to their room, Sky," Axton ordered the soldier who had led them to the General's office.
"Lieutenant, please," Sky pointed to the door.
Rhys nodded to Dorian and Tide, signalling them to follow him out.
Corvin glanced at Ren before walking out of the office as well.
Now, Ren was left alone with Axton and his family.
He was a sore thumb among them.
