He hated Axton for bringing him straight to danger without warning or consideration, and he pitied him because he could feel Axton's Vulnerability. This was the first time Axton had faced a figure with authority over him, and Ren had noticed how tense Axton behaved in his father's presence
It was almost like Axton was trying hard to hide the subtle signs of his long-suppressed anxiety or fear. He wasn't sure which one it was, but he knew that Axton was entirely his cold, confident self in front of his father.
'I'm not pitying him. He doesn't deserve my pity,' he thought, forcing his mind to stop thinking about what Axton must be facing in front of his father at that moment.
