Axton's face was so close Ren could feel the heat radiating from him.
The husky whisper, "You say you've forgotten all about last night, should I remind you, Renault?" hung in the air, a chilling threat and an unspoken invitation.
Ren's breath hitched, his heart hammering against his ribs. He felt Axton's hand, a possessive, gentle weight, slide from his throat to the nape of his neck, his thumb stroking the sensitive skin.
"N-no, Captain," Ren stammered, his voice a flimsy protest against the overwhelming reality of their situation. "I... I remember." The words were a bitter admission, a surrender to the memory of the previous night's brutal, intoxicating pleasure.
He hated himself for the admission, hated the way his body was already betraying him, trembling in anticipation.
