She opened the drawers and skimmed through everything until a file fell on the floor. She immediately picked it up to put it back, but something caught her attention. A word was written on the file, Agreement For Surrogacy.
Hailey stared at the papers for the longest time she could remember.
'What is this document doing here?' She wondered, her eyebrows furrowing deeper.
Now, she couldn't help but wonder who had offered to have a surrogacy. Was it Diane?
Hailey decided to open the file and quickly scanned through the first page, which didn't contain much information. Knowing she'd disappeared for a while and Diane would start looking for her soon enough, Hailey quickly wrapped the papers in her handbag, rearranged the part she took them from to make sure nothing seemed out of place, and then left the study.
She might not have found the property papers like she was supposed to, but something had caught her attention instead.
