Chapter 1 - 1

3rd Cycle

A handful of angelic beings gracefully landed on the ground around the body of a badly wounded dragon. Its red scales, which once glimmered like gold, were now littered with broken weapons stabbed into its body and several deep wounds. A large, gaping cut spread across its neck.

The angelic beings observed the dragon's dying moments silently. The ground started shaking as the dragon let out a hearty laugh, its body so large that even the smallest movements sent tremors through the surface. The dragon looked up at the beings and choked out its last words, "Separating me from the rest of the monarchs and my army by using His artifacts. An unpredictable move, I would say. You might have slain me, but I don't think the Rulers consider this a victory, do they?"

The dragon let out another laugh and continued, "All this effort to kill me, for what? You bugs would have to use the Cup. Hahahaha!"The angelic beings—the Rulers—listened silently, knowing the Monarch was correct.

They had used one of the Supreme Beings' artifacts to separate the Monarch of Destruction from his allies, but he alone was able to decimate almost all of their forces. The artifact also became useless, as all its power had been consumed. And their main goal of preserving this planet had also become a failure, since as far as the eye could see, all that remained of this planet and its inhabitants had been razed to the ground by the fiery breath of the dragon.

One of the Rulers extended their hand, making a large Cup materialize. All the other Rulers also extended their arms, releasing large amounts of mana, all of which coalesced inside the Cup, until the immaterial and ethereal mana was so dense that it had turned into a liquid. Gradually, they poured the liquid into the ground, and soon everything was engulfed by light.

The inhabitants of the world—the humans—would forget about everything that happened as time started getting rewound. Even the armies of the Monarchs and Rulers would also forget everything, the only witnesses to this great battle being the Rulers and Monarchs themselves. But the world remembers. And it will adapt.

7th Cycle

One of the Rulers held the corpse of a human in their arms and asked, "This development is unexpected. Is there some hope left for this world after all?"The human's ears were slightly elongated like those of an elf, and his skin had a distinct blue shade to it. The few monster corpses around which they found the human had pieces of ice and snow embedded in them, as if they were wounded by large icicles.

Another Ruler observed the corpses of the monsters and announced, "The Cup is not omnipotent. The unwinding of time is not as perfect as we thought it to be." The being knelt and felt some of the monster-blood-drenched soil between his fingers and continued, "The inhabitants of this world are adapting. No. The planet itself is trying its best to fend off the death and destruction of our war."

A third Ruler landed beside them and declared impatiently, "Antares is coming. We have to hurry."The three of them looked up at the sky and saw a humongous gate, almost the size of a city, open up, and a humongous red dragon flew out of it. Noticing the three Rulers on the ground, the dragon stopped flying and just looked straight down towards them. It didn't attack them, as it knew any attacks it did would be futile now. One of the three quickly materialized the Cup, and they performed the process of rewinding. But this time, the Rulers found a sliver of hope. The inhabitants of this planet can adapt to mana and use it. They know now what they have to do.

24th Cycle

All the wounded Rulers assembled in front of a lying human. But no one would call that person a human, as he looked completely like a wild beast, with white fur and large claws. He was on his final breaths as blood poured out from the deep gash on his chest.

"How?" one of the Rulers asked, confusion evident in its voice.

"Remnants of the Beast Monarch's essence," a second Ruler replied curtly.

"This human's home. It was the same place where we had slain the Monarch in four cycles" a third explained.

All the Rulers stood silently and witnessed as the light drained from the human's eyes, which prompted his body to shrink back to that of a regular human.

A few minutes later, one of them spoke up, "This opens up several new possibilities."

"Is he suitable to become a vessel?" another asked.

"Unknown. But we have already found a vessel from the same place as his," came a reply immediately.

"Very well. What shall be our next course of action?"

Silence.

They knew what they had to do, but they couldn't answer at all.

"We still have its essence... Are we sure about this?" one of them asked, a little apprehensive. This question was followed by more silence, as the Rulers didn't know what to say. What they were planning to do could have serious consequences—the kind of consequences that cannot be undone by rewinding time.

Finally, a few minutes later, all of them seemed to steel themselves and replied, "Yes. We have to utilize whatever method we have to give the humans a fighting chance."All the Rulers extended their arms as an enormous quantity of mana pooled in the center. A small gate formed between them, and an ominous aura seeped out.

One of the Rulers stepped forward and pushed their hand inside the gate and pulled something out. A pulsating mana core, with dozens of magical seals restraining the core at all times. This was the essence of a Monarch. All the Rulers looked at it apprehensively. They realized... maybe this gamble was the only way they could finally turn the tide of this war.

Give me ideas on what you want to see in this fanfic. Anything works. I have an almost concrete storyline ready for this fanfic, but your ideas will give me a good reference board for if I am ever stuck on any part of the story.

I would be grateful for any kind of ideas. What age the main character will be? Which country does the MC live in? The MC's involvement in the original storyline. What abilities will he have? Which characters will he fight? Anything and everything works. Just provide me with ideas. And I will update this fanfic at the earliest.
