Amara sniffled, wiping some of the tears away from her face. She grabbed my hands again and shook her head, her expression wild, the fear oozing from her palpable. She croaked; "Let's run before they find out I disturbed her. You know that Alpha Kai doesn't want anyone in there, and I went in?"


"Where is she?" I asked again, ignoring her words. Hell, she doesn't even know half of what she was saying. 


"She opened her eyes. And then she closed it back." Amara choked out. "I woke her up." She grabbed my hands in hers again, her eyes looking pleadingly up at me as she whispered; "mommy, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I don't know what to do."


I shuffled away from her as if physically hit, my heart racing so much, I feared it would pop out of my chest.
