Chapter 253: War
"Oh, welcome to Hogwarts."
Before Elvis, Iris, and Sean stood a boy with heterochromatic eyes looking at them with obvious interest.
"Lord Visionary?" Sean murmured with uncertainty.
"I am his follower. You can call me Aiden," Aiden said, narrowing his eyes.
He reached up and wiped away the Confundus Charm on his head, revealing two dragon horns.
"Alright, enough chatter. I need to train you into qualified wizards in the shortest time possible."
Aiden grasped at the void, and a silver-white staff appeared in his hand with magical shimmer.
"Fastest, how?" Elvis asked with a puzzled expression.
Aiden used his wand to carve a Kenaz (ᚲ) rune on the ground with precise movements.
Imitating Lady Rowena's method, Aiden filled his knowledge into it with careful concentration.
Reversing the rune's operation: 'Enlightenment', 'Creativity', 'Knowledge'.
A knockoff version of Ravenclaw's diadem was thus completed.
Then Aiden pulled out a large stack of books and placed them before the three with obvious satisfaction.
"Read them. One hour." The dragon showed a mischievous smile.
"So many! How is that possible?" Sean said, clutching his head in despair.
"Seeing is believing," Aiden said, borrowing a famous quote.
The three couldn't argue with Aiden and could only sit on the ground and start reading with reluctant determination.
Sean pressed the book against his cheek, hoping knowledge could directly enter their brains through the air.
It seemed the Weasley family's dislike of scholarly works might be hereditary. As for how someone could become a professor in the 18th century, Aiden attributed it to genetic mutation.
When the group became absorbed in learning, something strange happened.
The three's minds began racing at high speed. The obscure knowledge in the books could be understood after just one reading.
Combined with practising spells, magical control also became extremely natural.
"What's happening?" Elvis asked with obvious incredulity.
"Knowledge seems to keep surfacing in my mind," Iris said, also noticing the anomaly.
"Fifty more minutes," Aiden said, timely reminding them.
The three didn't dare get distracted and could only read more earnestly.
An hour later, the three collapsed powerlessly on the ground.
"Feel like my brain's about to be cooked," Sean complained weakly.
"Hmm, seems we need to reduce the frequency a bit," Aiden said, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
You're tormenting your ancestors like this. Aren't you afraid they won't be able to give birth to you after dying? the system complained.
It's fine, I'm monitoring their condition in real time, Aiden showed a confident smile.
"Come drink these," Aiden said, pulling out several potions and placing them before them.
After drinking the potions, the three felt much better.
In the following days, Aiden force-fed them everything from theory to practical combat.
Then, war broke out!
Orders from the Wizards' Council arrived. Because the western front had fallen, the defence line was contracted to the forest northwest of Hogwarts.
The flames of war finally reached Hogwarts, and the reluctant teachers and students had to enter the battlefield.
Reinforcements from the Wizards' Council had arrived and formed a defence force with Hogwarts' faculty and students.
"Godric, Aiden, take care of the children," Helga said, looking worriedly at the group.
Aiden and Godric said nothing, only nodded and led their people to the battlefield with grim determination.
On the western front, the light in the endless forest was very dim.
The clouds in the sky were very thick, with lightning occasionally flashing through while snowflakes fell ominously.
In the forest, countless creatures hid in the shadows, their eyes glowing in the dark, waiting for prey to arrive.
"Elves, goblins, griffins, dragons, unicorns..." Aiden said, squinting as he counted the magical creatures.
"Woo~" A long call rang out across the battlefield.
Many creatures seemed to receive orders and charged toward the wizards with fierce determination.
The wizards raised various wands and alchemical tools and began casting spells with practised precision.
Fireballs, ice spikes, lightning, and gales covered the creatures charging at the front.
Godric also drew his sword and Apparated into the goblin formation with warrior's fury.
Aiden turned back and said to the three ancestors, "You three, improvise."
The three ancestors, being elites who had survived ordinary battlefields, immediately cast defensive magic on themselves.
Then they cooperated with surrounding wizards to begin firing spells with tactical coordination.
Aiden lunged forward and transformed into a silver dragon, flying into the sky with magnificent power.
Four or five dragons on the opposite side also chased after him, breathing fire at Aiden with hostile intent.
Aiden wasn't to be outdone and opened his mouth to breathe his own dragon breath.
Ice breath and flame breath collided in the air, making violent sizzling sounds.
"Kinsman, why do you help wizards and oppose us?" The leading fire dragon spoke with surprising intelligence.
"You actually have intelligence? Forget it; now isn't the time to explore this. I'm not your kinsman... I'm a wizard."
Aiden's dragon mouth curved into a smile.
"Impossible!" "Traitor!" "No, the wizards have stolen our race's power!"
The fire dragons in the sky discussed in overlapping voices with obvious confusion.
"Silence! Whatever he is, he's our enemy now. Kill him!" the leading dragon commanded.
Then several fire dragons turned their gazes toward Aiden and launched a surprise attack.
Aiden made a graceful turn, and the silver scales on his body quickly turned grey-white. Mysterious symbols appeared on the scales, making several fire dragons dizzy.
The fire dragon leader fought through the dizziness and charged Aiden, mouth gaping to bite his wing.
It seemed dragon combat generally required depriving the opponent of air superiority. Strange knowledge indeed.
Aiden opened his mouth and breathed mental breath at it with lethal precision.
The dragon leader bit Aiden's wing, and the friction between scales and teeth sparked violently.
Unfortunately, he was also hit by the mental breath, let out a wail, and crashed toward the ground.
The victorious grey-white dragon roared in the sky with triumphant power.
The surrounding magical creatures unconsciously turned their gazes toward the centre, and strange thoughts arose from their hearts.
The Manipulator's ability was gathering. In the collective unconscious sea, a dragon's projection appeared.
The surrounding weather phenomena were under his control. Intense storms from the collective unconscious sea began landing on the surrounding consciousness islands.
All magical creatures that looked at Aiden were hit by this mental impact, slightly slowing their offensive.
Due to the magical creatures showing weakness, the wizards seized the opportunity and reduced quite a few elite units that had been active on the battlefield.
Several fire dragons were hit by Aiden's mental impact, causing their mental defences to crumble completely.
Several transparent shadows jumped from Aiden's consciousness island into the sea and secretly infiltrated their consciousness islands.
The entire process took less than three seconds, and the fire dragons instantly defected.
Aiden flapped his wings and formed a formation with them, beginning aerial bombardment.
Several dragons dived toward the ground in unison, breathing fire with coordinated destruction.
The flames ignited the forest and burnt many magical creatures to death.
Their organised attack still failed, and after one of the goblins released a retreat signal to the sky, they scattered and fled in defeat.
