Unlike the cocky Vegito from Dragon Ball, who wasted time toying with his enemies and ended up burning through his fusion time, Kanami wasn't about to make that same mistake.
He had no interest in playing games with his opponent just for laughs.
Still… with his strength? It wouldn't have hurt to enjoy tossing Ji Lin around a little.
But for Kanami, this level of battle didn't even qualify as a warm-up.
It was no challenge—barely a flick of his wrist.
What he didn't expect… was that Ji Lin would go down before he even got serious~
"…That's it? It's over already? That's way too ridiculous!!"
With wide, stunned eyes, the other Herrschers descended from the sky, landing beside Kanami.
Their faces were frozen, staring blankly at the unbelievable scene before them.
Himeko blinked in total disbelief, mouth agape as she looked at the boy with that weird, inexplicably smug smile.
The battlefield fell silent.
Everyone wore a "what the actual hell" expression.
The same Seven-Core Herrscher they'd spent half a day fighting tooth and nail…
Just got taken out by one punch!?
"Well, technically not just one punch—I did slice her with a sword too, you know!"
With hands on his hips and his chin tilted proudly upward, Kanami looked every bit the cocky protagonist showing off his unbeatable power.
"Seven-core Herrscher? Not bad!"
That tone, that pose—it felt eerily familiar.
Mei could almost see Kiana in him: chest puffed out, proud as a peacock, soaking in the spotlight.
And it wasn't just her.
Fu Hua and Himeko were both wearing complex, slightly twitchy expressions.
Himeko, out of habit, nearly launched into a snarky remark or a lecture—but caught herself just in time.
This wasn't just that dumb tuna, after all.
Despite his cheerful, energetic exterior, this was the combination with Kiana and Nagami's essence.
Kanami was, without a doubt, a wolf in sheep's clothing.
And with that kind of absurd power?
Yeah… definitely not someone you wanted to mess with.
But then Himeko suddenly remembered something and looked sharply at the white-haired boy, her lips twitching.
"…Wait. You're not—are you reading our minds?!"
"Of course not! How could I possibly know someone was just thinking about wolves in sheep's clothing~?"
His eyes narrowed, and his smile shone brighter than the sun… but the chill that shot down Himeko's spine made her scalp go numb.
'I knew it!!'
With a nervous chuckle, Himeko instinctively took a big step back and positioned Mei's body between herself and Kanami's gaze.
Kanami didn't seem bothered by her reaction.
Behind Mei, her crystal-like wings fluttered as she stepped closer to the boy.
"Um… K-Kanami…"
Even though this being was a fusion of the two people dearest to her, Mei couldn't help but feel a little awkward about his name.
"Is the Herrscher of Domination… really gone? Completely?"
After all, during the fight with Ji Lin's clone, even destroying her physical form with lightning wouldn't guarantee it.
The Domination Herrscher had always re-emerged through its core.
"No need to worry. I've erased it completely. There's no chance of revival."
Kanami's voice was gentle and steady, but the absolute confidence in his tone left no room for doubt.
As we know, the imaginary number i is the square root of -1.
In mathematics, it represents a number that doesn't exist in the one-dimensional real number line.
A one-dimensional universe is just an infinitely extending straight line—no width, no height, just points on a line.
In such a reality, there's no concept of direction or angle—those are two-dimensional concepts.
And so, such numbers are called imaginary.
The imaginary world has no shape, no width or height, and it doesn't exist in material form.
But that single sword strike—collapsing from imaginary space into reality—reversed the scale of the real world, ignoring spatial constraints entirely.
That blade of starlight was a result of applying Fourier transforms from high-dimensional physics into real space.
Its final effect was to trigger a discrete collapse of space itself.
With overwhelming force, Kanami tore apart the fabric of spacetime—causing the atoms that made up Ji Lin's body to collapse into shattered dimensions.
If the power of Honkai not been so deeply linked to imaginary space, even the Herrscher Core might've been destroyed.
"…But,"
Kanami scratched his head sheepishly, the stars in his eyes flickering as he awkwardly looked away.
"I might've gone just a tiny bit overboard with the force I used on the Herrscher Core~"
He held up his thumb and index finger, leaving only the tiniest of gaps between them.
His voice carried a barely hidden excitement.
"And then… thanks to the sudden surge in energy caused by the Herrscher Core going berserk under massive pressure…"
"So yeah… the result was, um, well…"
He coughed awkwardly, eyes glittering with green starlight.
Sweeping his gaze across the land below, Kanami raised a single finger—and pointed.
"That region of space-time is now completely… break—no, becoming more chaotic!"
"…Did you mean to say 'shattered' just now?"
Fu Hua, having regained control of her body, walked up expressionlessly.
Though her face remained stern, something in Kanami's behavior was starting to unsettle her.
The fusion of Nagami and Kiana… brought out Kiana's silly airheadedness and Nagami's mischievous love of chaos.
Who knew what kind of absurd stunt he might pull next?
"And what exactly do you mean by 'becoming more chaotic'? And what consequences could it cause?"
Ever the grounded one, Fu Hua brought the conversation firmly back on track, her tone serious.
"I haven't actually checked yet. This kind of thing is like opening a mystery box," Kanami said casually. "Chances are, nothing good comes out of it—but with my luck, who knows? Might even get something nice~"
His carefree reply nearly made Fu Hua snap.
The faint smile on her face froze, and stress lines crept across her forehead like cracks in glass.
"Relax. Whatever happens, I'll make sure it doesn't affect Shenzhou,"
Kanami said with a grin, reading her thoughts like an open book as he gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
He may have gotten a bit cocky thanks to Sirin's influence, but with the power he now wielded, Kanami wouldn't even flinch if the Final Herrscher herself descended upon the world.
Whether or not he could defeat her… well, that depended on how strong she really was.
But get crushed? Absolutely not.
"Still, before I deal with that issue, I have a few other things to take care of. Please wait here for a bit, okay~?"
His expression softened into a gentle smile as he waved to the group.
Under their confused gazes, Kanami looked up at the sky with a grin—one that carried a hint of mischief—and took a single step forward.
"W-wait, please!"
Durandal reached out instinctively, as if trying to stop him.
But in the blink of an eye, the white-haired boy vanished from view.
The scene froze for a moment.
The Herrschers left behind exchanged glances, all of them wearing the same helpless expression.
What else could they say? This was the fusion of Nagami and Kiana, after all.
In the directionless chaos of Imaginary Space, Kanami strolled forward like he was just out for a walk.
Meanwhile, at the Schicksal branch on Shenzhou's border…
Inside the command center, a blond young man sat in the main control seat, calmly giving out orders.
Dozens of holographic screens floated in front of him, each one displaying Valkyries and warships engaged in battle against Honkai beasts.
With his composed demeanor and his commanding presence, he was the embodiment of reliability.
Anyone watching this scene would feel an overwhelming sense of security.
The satellite systems had been knocked out the moment the Herrscher of Domination went wild.
But the moment Kanami appeared—everything came back online.
Now, one of the monitors displayed the image of a white-haired boy… smiling directly at him.
Otto's eye twitched ever so slightly.
"…My dear friend," he muttered. "You never mentioned you were capable of this much."
He turned in his chair to face the approaching figure, stroking his chin as he eyed Kanami with a strange look.
"Who the hell is your 'friend'?" Kanami looked down at Otto, his voice cold and cutting. "Did you forget what you did to Sirin?"
Under the weight of Kanami's frosty gaze, the entire world felt as if it had frozen over.
Otto's smile stiffened.
Even with a soulium body, he could feel it—that suffocating pressure of impending death.
Not physical death, no—complete annihilation, from the soul on down.
His synthetic heart had never pounded so violently, as though it might explode at any second.
A single drop of cold sweat slid down Otto's temple.
"This time, I don't have time to deal with you," Kanami said coolly. "But if we ever meet again, I'll make sure to return all the 'love' you gave Sirin… with interest."
He extended his right hand and grasped at the air.
A golden cube, etched with ancient inscriptions, materialized in his palm.
"And you better start praying."
And with that before Otto could say another word the white-haired boy vanished, taking with him the weapon forged from the core of the Pre-Civilization Herrscher of Reason:
Void Archives.
