In the retro-styled Tofu Shop, there were two people.
One, around thirty years old, stood at the entrance to the kitchen, leaning against the doorframe with arms crossed, remaining silent yet his gaze was heavy and penetrating.
The other, slightly younger, sat in a dining chair not far away with a provocative posture. A ledger was on the table, and a pen was spinning in his hand, while his scrutinizing gaze was wrapped in intense curiosity.
Neither were friendly.
In fact, there was a hint of hostility.
"Pedro Langley."
Nora Scott introduced as she walked in.
Then, without noting the two's reaction, she introduced to Pedro Langley, "Humphrey Jennings, our chef. Benjamin Durant, our staff... also the receptionist."
The pen stopped spinning, and Benjamin Durant tapped it on the table, raising his eyebrows in this direction.
"Who is he?"
He spoke with a drawl, carrying a bit of provocation and displeasure.
