"I'm home."
Alice pushed the door shut behind her, dropped her keys in the bowl on the table, and slipped off her shoes.
"Travis?" she called softly, brushing her hair back from her face.
"In here," his voice came from the living room.
She walked in to find him on the couch, laptop set aside, his expression instantly softening when he saw her.
"You look tired," he said. "Long day?"
Alice nodded, lips twitching into a smile. "Very long. But…" She paused dramatically, then grinned. "I got the part."
Travis's eyes lit up. He was on his feet in seconds, crossing the room to pull her into a hug. "You got it?"
"Yes," she laughed into his shoulder. "Supporting female lead. They said I was the best fit."
He held her back, his hands warm against her back. "That's incredible, Alice. I'm so proud of you."
She leaned back enough to look at him, eyes bright. "You didn't… pull any strings, right?"
Travis blinked. "What?"
