Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Uchiha Yi, the Genius Boy

"Yi, you're awake! That's great!" Uchiha Yi slowly opened his eyes to see a girl of about eight or nine years old. She was incredibly cute, like a porcelain doll, and was looking at him with a worried expression.

"Mikoto, I'm sorry to have worried you. How long have I been asleep?" Uchiha Yi sat up, shook his head, and gave Uchiha Mikoto an apologetic smile.

"How many times have I told you to call me big sister!" Uchiha Mikoto instinctively retorted, then asked worriedly, "Yi, are you really okay? Dad said you fainted because you were too excited when you awakened your Sharingan, and your body couldn't handle it because you're too young.

You were unconscious for about three hours. The Hokage-sama and Clan Head-sama have already left; they told you to rest well at home.

Are you feeling better now?"

"Yes, much better!" Uchiha Yi reached up and lightly touched his eyelids. His normally dark pupils flickered, turning crimson, and a single black tomoe spun rapidly within them. "Too bad, it seems to be only a single tomoe."

Before transmigrating, many people complained that even after Sasuke Uchiha's entire clan was sacrificed, he only awakened a single tomoe. But now that his own father had died, he, too, had only awakened a single tomoe Sharingan. If the forum experts found out, wouldn't he be called useless?

However, awakening a single tomoe Sharingan at the age of six meant he was considered one of the earliest "geniuses" to awaken it in the Uchiha clan.

Soon, Uchiha Yi felt relieved. Awakening the Sharingan too early wasn't necessarily a good thing for the Uchiha clan. For example, the future Uchiha Itachi seemed to have contracted a severe bloodline illness because he awakened it too early.

Even Uchiha Madara, at the age of twelve, lost so many younger brothers, yet he hadn't even awakened his Sharingan.

As a transmigrator, he was no stranger to the world of Naruto, and transmigrating into the son of Uchiha Kagami, a master of the Uchiha clan, left Uchiha Yi with mixed feelings.

As a member of the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Kagami had always been committed to fostering harmonious relations between Konoha and the Uchiha clan. When Tobirama Senju was still alive, Uchiha Kagami worked tirelessly to express the Uchiha clan's goodwill to the Second Hokage, and at the same time, he helped convey Tobirama Senju's intentions to the Uchiha clan.

Undoubtedly, Uchiha Kagami was the bridge of communication between the Uchiha clan and the Hokage lineage.

With Tobirama Senju suppressing the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Kagami's work was relatively easy. Tobirama Senju appreciated him, and the Uchiha clan yearned for peace, hoping Uchiha Kagami could compete for the next Hokage. That period could be considered a honeymoon phase between the two sides.

However, ever since Tobirama Senju's sacrifice and Hiruzen Sarutobi became the Third Hokage, the situation had changed.

Hiruzen Sarutobi was not Tobirama Senju; he lacked the power to suppress Konoha, and there was even more dissatisfaction within the Uchiha clan towards Hiruzen Sarutobi.

The First Hokage and Second Hokage both came from the Senju clan, so no matter what, it should be the Uchiha clan's turn for the Third Hokage.

Although the Sarutobi clan was not weak during the Warring States period and was considered a prominent clan—even Uchiha Madara showed delight when he heard from Hashirama Senju that the Sarutobi and Shimura clans were willing to join Konoha—

In the hearts of the Uchiha clan, the Sarutobi clan was not qualified to compare with them.

How could Hiruzen Sarutobi be worthy of being the Third Hokage? If anyone, it should be Uchiha Kagami!

What the Uchiha clan found difficult to accept was that Uchiha Kagami, their great hope, was the first to support Hiruzen Sarutobi as Hokage.

This caused the Uchiha clan to erupt. Even if Uchiha Kagami didn't become Hokage, it should still be their clan head who became Hokage!

Why Hiruzen Sarutobi?

It was precisely because of this that a division emerged within the Uchiha clan: one faction supported Uchiha Kagami, hoping he would continue to be the bridge maintaining peace between the village and the clan, while the other became the hawks, considering Uchiha Kagami a traitor to the Uchiha clan.

The Uchiha clan needed their own Hokage, and for that, they were willing to contend with the Hokage lineage, even to the point of staging a coup.

Gradually, this formed the Dove faction and the Hawk faction within the Uchiha clan.

Uchiha Kagami had been maintaining harmony between the two sides for years, constantly undertaking missions. He would always take the lead in accepting and executing difficult tasks.

After Uchiha Yi was born, he rarely saw Uchiha Kagami, his nominal father. He was entrusted to the care of Uchiha Mikoto's grandfather, the Second Elder of the Uchiha clan.

This elder was also currently the head of the Dove faction within the Uchiha clan.

Not long ago, Uchiha Kagami sacrificed himself during a mission. Hiruzen Sarutobi himself delivered the news, and Uchiha Yi, upon first hearing it, awakened his Sharingan due to excessive "stimulation."

Of course, this wasn't because Uchiha Yi and Uchiha Kagami had an exceptionally deep bond; rather, Uchiha Yi was infuriated. As the strongest member of the Uchiha clan at the time, the only one to have awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, Uchiha Yi could grudgingly accept Uchiha Kagami's sacrifice.

But what about those Mangekyo Sharingan? Did they not show any consideration at all?

Not only did Hiruzen Sarutobi not mention it, but the Clan Head also seemed to have no intention of bringing up those Mangekyo Sharingan.

Although Uchiha Yi knew that the possibility of him inheriting those eyes was almost zero, and he wouldn't be able to protect them, they had simply ignored him.

Uchiha Yi wasn't foolish; he always believed Uchiha Kagami was merely performing a futile task. He couldn't comprehend Uchiha Kagami's philosophy of treating Konoha as his home.

Nor could he understand the Clan Head and others.

He didn't even know whose hands those Mangekyo Sharingan were in now: Hiruzen Sarutobi's? Danzo Shimura's? Or the Clan Head's?

Any of these individuals had a strong possibility.

And no matter who it was, this could become his next enemy and opponent.

Of course, for Uchiha Yi, he didn't need to consider these matters for now, nor could he. He needed to possess great strength and improve quickly under the "protection" of certain individuals.

Only when his own strength was sufficient could he determine his own destiny.

Fortunately, Uchiha Yi wasn't without any trump cards. Not to mention the excellent bloodline he inherited from Uchiha Kagami, it was highly likely he would awaken a three-tomoe Sharingan in the future, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

After all, Uchiha Kagami awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, and his future son, Uchiha Shisui, also awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan.

There's no reason why Uchiha Yi shouldn't be able to, right?
