Chapter 17 - Everyone is the same

Firion was still sitting on the edge of bed with the ancient tome beside him.

From what he just read and surmised, is that elves and devas might actually share common ancestry with each other, and if so, why are the races now at each other's throats?

Or at least, that is what he was raised to believe. Firion is not a native of the Aldenburg, he's a forest elf from Auriel, a clan of elves who cast away their superficial desires for humbler beliefs eons ago.

Its possible, that despite living so long, that maybe he lived a sheltered life within the kingdom? Maybe the larger world yielded more information than what he was brought up with?

The nobles of Aldenburg barely ever acknowledged the existence of other elves, however, when the blue horns burned down his home, the Jade Forest, the Lustrodos army of Aldenburg immediately responded.

They took in the refugee elves, and mediated a peace agreement with the devas of Mycean, but the deals of that negotiation were never shared amongst the population.

Firion always did feel a little uneasy with the many things that Aldenburg hid from the populace, but out of sheer loyalty he ignored those doubts, but since his attempted assassination he was clearly starting to see the obvious immoralities of their society.

From elf women who no longer care who they bed, to nobles who organize murders, its clear that this society is slowly losing its virtues.

The emotions of his new flaming turmoil did start to reach Kaida's horns and she slowly opened her eyes, she glanced at Firion and could sense something wrong with her husband!

She could feel him full of apathy and worry, "Firion....what's the matter?" she asked as she gazed over at him, and immediately the swelling of melancholy left his heart.

His face calmed down, and his eyes softened, he reached over and stroked her face that still showed fatigue. That did not stop a passionate morning kiss however!

He then spoke, "I did not mean to wake you Kaida, I wanted to let you sleep some more, but this morning I started reading this old tome I found in the cupboard last night."

She looked over and saw the mysterious book with the "木" symbol on it.

Her eyes glowed a bit. "Ah! I forgot where it went! Its my mom's book of the Wood!" she exclaimed as she stammered trying to sit up.

But Kaida's pelvic area was still rather sore, so trying to sit up was painful! Thankfully Firion was there, and he lifted her on his lap.

"Do you know what this tome is Kaida? Or whats inside of it?" the elf asked as they both glanced at the book.

She pondered, "I don't recall too much about it, but I remembered what my mother told me that this particular book means we're all the same!" she said with a naive expression.

But actually her statement, might have just confirmed what Firion himself was theorizing, that elves and devas do share common ancestry, and did her mother, perhaps know the truth?

"Um...actually Firion, maybe we should take a bath first?" Kaida's eyes glanced downward, and her privates, along with his, were still covered her virginity and his semen, and now that she mentioned it....

The next thing they knew, they were both outside taking turns with washing each other off with cool water, with both of them getting goosebumps and hurrying back inside to warm up by the fire!

Firion was wearing some loose trousers, and Kaida was wearing one of her, more exotic lingerie, which was a pink silk bikini.

("I still cannot believe she found a trunk full of sexual lingerie out here...granted I have seen many elf women act provocatively in broad daylight.") he mumbled as she curled up his lap.

As Firion wrapped a blanket around them, he took the time to explain to Kaida everything he could read out of the old tome, and he also clarified he own misunderstanding.

"Your clan Kaida, I do not believe are the demons they are labeled as, the true name of your people is devas according to what I read inside the book." he explained.

"Devas...its sort of pronounced similar to demons, maybe an elf from Aldenburg misunderstood Firion, but I always believed in my mom, everyone is the same, and she was right!" she smiled.

He frowned a bit, and told her his concerns, "Kaida, I do not believe it was something as simple as that, something must have instigated as to why the elves of Aldenburg label your kind as demons, but I don't know how the rest of world views devas, and the only other elven country that could have those answers is Eurelca."

"You mean there is another elf country besides Aldenburg, Firion? Are there other deva tribes too?" she suddenly had a storm of questions.

"Well actually there is 1 other tribe that I do know of! And that is white fang lion tribe that controls Junai, a country with many warm climates. But its possible that there are others too." He explained.

Kaida started twirling her fingers like she was pondering something.

"Firion, when the day happens when I have our baby, what will it be then? An elf, deva, or will it be a fae?" she asked.

Now that she mentioned it, cross species relationships is not too uncommon with the elf population, as a lot of them made the poor choice of breeding with humans, but he thought deeper, he never noticed any deva concubines....

Then something cold crawled up Firion's spine! The Lustrodos monarchy...the mightiest of the elites of Aldenburg...he just realized something...their complexions, especially with the younger generation...

("I never payed much mind to it, but I do remember something odd, the nobles, a lot them, now that I think about it...have silver hair and blue eyes!")
