Chapter 26 - White Lion

"Wait...you two are elves like me?!?!" A confused Firion asked.

The foreign elf smiled as he turned to his partner, to which she responded by removing her mask, revealing that she too is an elf with curly, white hair and dark sin, but her eyes are magenta, but her ears and her partner's ears are undeniably elven.

She also clarified more about their culture. "We know in Aldenburg you say elves, but out here in Junai we prefer the term yumboes. It was the name great Ogun bestowed upon us."

"Ogun? Who is Ogun?" Asked Kaida.

Firion also chimed in. "Also may we ask for your names? And do the devas and elv....I mean yumboes coexist out here with each other? Though I have seen white fangs, I did not know that elves also populated Junai."

"Woah! Lots of questions! But lets start with the most basic greeting! My name is Jaheim, and this lovely woman is my wife Alima! We are desert rangers who patrol the region together! And to your other questions, yes, devas and yumboes have coexisted out here for millennia! I am surprised that YOU don't know this, the nobles from Aldenburg come out here all the time! Lastly, Ogun is the name of the mighty, white lion god of the west, and deity of iron!" He carefully explained.

Firion looked even more dumbfounded by this revelation. Throughout his life, he was told that Junai was full of lion demons that slaughtered elves, but now he is hearing for the first time that nobles come here often and that there were elf tribes that lived beside the white fang devas?

Alima provided more insight. "Actually there is more yumboes on this side of Junai than the northern part, but plenty of devas still live out here. My mother is a white fang deva and my father is a yumbo."

"So your an elf born from a deva mother? Does your breasts make milk too?" Kaida enthusiastically inquired.

However Kaida innocently had no idea how inappropriate that question was, as Alima turned bright red and Jaheim started laughing uncontrollably. Firion just blushed from her bold way of asking.

Alima crossed her arms over her chest and quickly answered her question anyway. "YES I DO! But please understand my sister, that is NOT something you discuss with strangers! That is bedroom talk between spouses! Also please call us yumboes. AND JAHEIM QUIT LAUGHING!!!!"

In a humorous display she balled up her fist and struck her husband on the head, causing a large welt. Even the large three horned saurian looked at his owner's head in pity.

Kaida put her hands together in the same manner that shows her embarrassment from a lack of understanding, from her body language it was clear she was ashamed now, just like how Firion once chastised her for grabbing his penis when he was asleep the first day he stayed with her.

But she looked very unhappy as she sensed the different emotions, both positive and negative that confused her.

Firion did not like seeing her look so vulnerable so her hugged and pulled her close

"You didn't know Kaida, and I should have told you more about etiquette of this world, but you should not feel bad yourself! You cannot help what you were not informed about growing up." The large elf clarified.

Her husband's arms alway felt so safe and reassuring to her.

But Alima and Jaheim quickly calmed down after they heard Firion's explanation.

"Wait a minute...what do you mean your wife does not know the outside world? And you yourself did not know that people from Aldenburg visit here all the time? And they told you we are demons? My brother you sure you were not brought up in a cult?" Jaheim confusingly inquired.

Firion rubbed his head and knew he had to explain the truth about his situation. So as they sat for a while, he carefully elaborated to the yumbo couple what all had happen to him in the past year and how he met Kaida, and the conspiracies and inconsistencies that he was not fully aware of.

The yumbo couple look dumbfounded themselves now, as they never expected to hear such a complicated story.

Alima lightly nudged her husband. "You know Jaheim, maybe we should take them to the oracle! I am certain Nkiri could probably help them, she is very wise to these sort of things."

"An oracle? Is she your leader?" Firion asked.

"Not a leader, more like a lot of the villagers come together and ask for her opinion on something, even our mayor requests for her insight. Bibi is the type to tell you to use your own sense of judgement. But with complicated matters like with you and your wife, maybe she can foresee the best outcome to follow, as she does have the ability to read the stars." Jaheim revealed.

The blue horned maiden seemed curious about that last statement. "What do you mean she can read the stars?"

"An oracle Kaida is someone who has the ability of clairvoyance, meaning she has the ability to predict the future." Firion responded.

"She is one of four oracles chosen by Ogun! These are believers who the white lion acknowledged worthy of his wisdom and bestowed upon them the gift of astral sight! Which allows them to see a possibility that has not come to pass yet!" Alima explained further.

Jaheim got up and offered his suggestion as whistled for his saurian. "Why don't you two come with us? Though we need to inspect one more area, from there we will take you to Taraji and arrange a meeting with bibi, if shes in a good mood..."

Firion and Kaida and glanced at each other and nodded in agreement.

"We'll take you up on that offer. Maybe the oracle will give us advice on where we should go from here." The forest elf stated.

But suddenly the four were interrupted by a purple fireball that lit up the sky.

Alima and Jaheim's eyes widened in concern.

"Oh no! That particular color means only one thing! That one our friends needs help!" He said with his eyes filled with worry!

Firion put his hands on Jaheim's shoulder.

"Since your offering to help me and Kaida, let me do the same for you! I may not look like it now, but I have over 200 years of military experience from Aldenburg, I will offer my strength however I can!" He offered.

Jaheim looked to Alima who nodded her head in confidence.

"Lets go then!" He replied. "But I will warn you, I have a good feeling what this situation already is...and Alima knows too. And we may have to make a difficult choice."
